Cilantro Lime Shrimp is bursting with flavor and it takes about 10 minutes to make! Serve it over rice or tacos for an easy weeknight dinner!
Cilantro Lime Shrimp
Cilantro lime shrimp is so easy to whip up, and it’s loaded with flavor!! This is always on my dinner rotation. We serve it over rice, with tortillas to make shrimp tacos or over a salad. For more shrimp recipes, you might also enjoy this easy Air Fryer Shrimp, Honey Garlic Shrimp, Shrimp and Grits and Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice.
Ingredients
- Shrimp: You can buy fresh or frozen jumbo shrimp that’s peeled or unpeeled. Unpeeled is generally cheaper, but you will need to peel and devein it.
- Seasoning: Cumin, salt, pepper
- Garlic: Crush five cloves of garlic.
- Lime: Squeeze two tablespoons of juice from one medium lime.
- Cilantro: Chop fresh cilantro.
How to Make Cilantro Lime Shrimp
- Season the shrimp with cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the Shrimp: Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add a teaspoon of olive oil and half of the shrimp to the pan. Cook them undisturbed for about two minutes. Turn the shrimp over and cook for another minute until opaque. Transfer to a plate.
- Garlic: Add the remaining oil and shrimp to the pan. After a couple of minutes, flip the shrimp over, add the garlic, and cook for one minute. Return the first batch of shrimp to the skillet, and mix well so the garlic is evenly incorporated. Remove the pan from the heat.
- Lime and Cilantro: Squeeze the lime juice and sprinkle the cilantro all over the shrimp.
What to Serve with Cilantro Lime Shrimp
I like eating this with rice and an avocado and romaine salad. Here are some other suggestions for how to serve this protein:
- Tacos: Wrap the shrimp in corn tortillas for cilantro lime shrimp tacos and top with cabbage slaw.
- Rice: Serve them with cilantro lime rice or, for a low-carb alternative, cauliflower rice.
- Tostadas: Top a tostada shell with shrimp and pico de gallo.
- Salads: Toss these shrimp into any salad, like this Mexican cobb salad or avocado and tomato salad.
- Bowls: Create a bowl with your favorite grains and vegetables.
- Quesadillas: Make a quesadilla with cheddar cheese and shrimp.
Storage
Cooked shrimp is good for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. You could microwave it, but I recommend eating the leftovers cold.
Variations
- Don’t like cilantro? Sub fresh chives.
- Switch up the flavors by using basil or parsley and lemon juice.
- Shrimp didn’t brown? Your pan may not have been hot enough, or it was overcrowded.
- Grilling: If you’d rather grill the shrimp, check out my Grilled Cilantro-Lime Shrimp Kebab recipe.

Really loved this. Definitely in my rotation. I personally am not a fan of cumin so I just omit. Love lime and added the zest
Thanks for sharing!
This was delicious! I had a large enough non-stick pan to cook all the shrimp in one phase. I also added the zest of one small lime just to strengthen the lime flavor. Two tsp. of oil was enough, Finally I added the chopped garlic in a little earlier to be sure the garlic cooked before the shrimp was finished. It was delicious and will make it again, and again!
This recipe was amazing, and we loved it!!!
Thank you!
Made this to top a salad with. I was craving these flavors. It was SO good! Perfect recipe
Served over white rice with side of brocolli. Flavors complimented each other well!
Such an easy and tasty meal! Will be in our rotation for a long time to come.
So good (and easy)! I’ve probably made this a dozen times now and serve over brown rice. Tonight I served as shrimp tacos with your super easy cabbage slaw recipe and will definitely be doing that again. Love this one!
This was really tasty! I will be making this again.
Turned out really well. I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely cook it again. We made tacos from ours; a little bit messy but delicious 🤤
I’ve made this several times and always enjoy it. I made it again tonight and added just a touch of cayenne for a little kick. Yummy!!
So easy and so yummy I will make it again and again
Delicious! I served it with tortillas and the cabbage slaw.
Easy and Delicious! To be fair, I ate them in the shrimp tacos so I don’t know how prevalent the flavor comes through on it’s own, but still really enjoyed them. I defrosted frozen peeled deveined shrimp, tossed them in the seasonings, cooked in one batch, added garlic at the end, and then the lime juice and cilantro puree from the tube. Minimal prep, super easy. Can’t believe it took me so long to try these, will probably make this a staple for many of our shrimp making occasions now.
Made this recipe tonight and it was good but…I was going after a particular taste as there is a Greek restaurant who makes this type of shrimp and I really enjoy the flavors so next time I will leave out the cumin.
“The best shrimp I’ve ever eaten” said my husband. I served it with the cilantro lime rice and it was super fresh, light, delicious, quick to make, low calorie. I’ve made similar shrimp dishes before but the cumin is exactly is the magic ingredient. Love!
This was an easy & delicious meal. Gina out did herself, again! Thanks!!
As a shrimp lover, this was truly enjoyable, great….thank you, it will be a star at our table often.
What is the name brand of your cast iron pan (blue exterior)?
Easy and delicious!
Apparently, when I clicked on “jump to recipe” the first time, an incorrect recipe came up that didn’t include garlic. After going back to the original page and clicking on “jump to recipe” a second time a recipe include garlic came up.
weird
Instruction 5 refers to garlic. The ingredient list does not include garlic.
Hi Gina,
My mom is a cardiac patient, and loves shrimp. I think she would live this, but she has to watch her sodium. Since the directions for salt are to taste, is the sodium content calculated without any salt?
Thanks, Susan
yes without. For low sodium shrimp it’s best to buy wild which doesn’t have salt injected into it.
This was so quick to make, and very flavorful. Great for a no salt diet too. We enjoyed it so much, we’re making it again. Thanks!!!!
Awesome dish. Quick and very easy to make. Served it with a Mexican slaw and it was a perfect meal. Best shrimp dish I have made.
Thanks Al!
Boyfriend said this was the best shrimp dish he has ever had!!! Served it over some cauliflower rice.
Quick, easy and delicious! Made tacos with flour tortillas and Asian slaw!!!
Delicious. Perfect over a little rice.
This recipe was soooo good! I regret I didn’t double it!
It was delicious, we all loved it (as well as our 3 yo!)
Thank you for this easy recipe!
You’re welcome!! Glad everyone enjoyed it!
Quick, easy , delicious
This dish was so good, so refreshing on a hot summer night. All I had was Trader Joe’s already cooked frozen shrimp. So we ended up throwing all of the ingredients in to the pan together while I heated up the shrimp. It was delicious. I served it with wild rice which was a great complement to the sauce. I love this and will absolutely make it again.
I served this with shredded cabbage and tortillas for shrimp tacos. The 4 of us give it 8 thumbs up!
This was an easy, quick recipe that tastes fabulous. Great for a week night when I got home late from work. I shared it with my daughter in college, it will be perfect for her to make in her new apartment.
This is soo good,I would highly recommend this to anyone seeking shrimp recipes. I am a first time and I didn’t fail, let me tell you-fine just fine. And it still weighs on my mind.Went down fairly easy and easy to chew 2.God I just loved it!Totally installing the food network app.DELICIOUS
Soooooo yummy! I’ve made cilantro lime shrimp before but never with cumin. This is definitely going in the rotation. I just ate with woke white rice, super good
This was delicious! I added more cumin than it called for ( love me some cumin) used garlic paste and let the shrimp sit in it for a few minutes. Served with roasted green beans and a side of couscous.
If you are using frozen shrimp to you thaw before you cook?
The shrimp are thawed before cooking: see video.
This looks yummy!
GINA, would it turnout the same if I baked the shrimp in the oven like some of your other recipes ? If so do you have a recommended heat setting and time ?
Sure
Made this tonight with brown rice and French green beans. It was extraordinary!! And soo easy. Dinner was so pretty, we actually set the table and ate as a family! Can’t wait to use the leftovers in a shrimp taco with fresh avocado! Thank you!
Please, what does the avocado lettuce salad consist of?
Thank You
I am not sure which salad you are referring to but here is a list of my avocado salad recipes.
Sounds delicious! What do you recommend serving this with for a full dinner?
We serve it over rice or with a big avocado and lettuce salad.
Good light dish….recommend using fresh shrimp..frozen shrimp not as good
Yes, fresh shrimp if you live in coastal areas, but anywhere else, frozen shrimp is your friend.
Quick & easy
Very good
Done before you know it! Such a flavorful, quick dinner!
I made this tonight and served it as an appetizer. My one regret is that I should have cooked at least 2 – 3 lbs of shrimp. It was really quick and easy with very little prep. I cleaned my shrimp when I bought it, so it was ready to be cooked when it was time. I buy shrimp in bulk and clean all of it before freezing for future meals.
Gina,
You are a treasure! Every single recipe I’ve made from your blog is just fantastic. This cilantro shrimp is delicious! I LOVE YOU! 🙂
This looks delicious! I can’t wait to try it!
Amazing! I love the cumin in this dish. This is a perfect recipe to make after work. We bought the shrimp and limes at Aldi and I already had cilantro on hand. We served it with brown rice and a salad. It is only my husband and myself and I am glad I didn’t try to cut the recipe in half. The leftover shrimp and rice will make a great lunch tomorrow. Thanks for the recipe. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Thanks Bobbie!
I was looking for a different way to cook shrimp and I had some leftover cilantro so this recipe did both! I had all of the ingredients at home and it was quick and easy and came out delicious! Thanks for yet another wonderful recipe!!
My pleasure!
Amazing! Simple, quick, and simply delicious! 🙂
This was great. I used minced garlic instead of crushed, but otherwise followed the recipe. Served with Mexican rice and broccoli. Delicious.
I tried recipee last night for company and was well received.
I changed one thing. I used coconut oil instead of the olive oil.
Added a simple delicate extra flavor which we thought brought out the shrimp
very well
This shrimp is so delicious and easy! I will definitely be making this often!
Another outstanding shrimp recipe – we love it!
Thank you!
I made this tonight. However, I did not cook rice to go with them or make a salad. As a matter of fact I made your zucchini tots. Both were awesome by themselves. The great thing about being a single woman is that you can eat what you want, when you want to, and how you want it.
Yes, so much easier cooking for one!
Loved it. Fast easy. Light. Flavorful. Ate it without anything but I’m thinking shrimp tacos next time.
We have a garlic allergy in the family. Would it be possible to substitute something else for the garlic?
I make this approximately once a week and we put the shrimp into tacos. It’s amazing! You’re amazing!
Can you us something besides line and cilantro?
Tried this recipe tonight and it was delicious. Will certainly make again and again.
So easy and yummy! We made these into shrimp tacos and added some shredded lettuce, cheese, and salsa. Even my two year old loved them!
Just made this tonight (actually my husband did) and they were wonderful! Very flavorful and tasty and so fast. Served with your suggestion (from another recipe) brown rice tossed with fresh lime juice and cilantro. Highly recommend!
Can you use frozen shrimp for this? And, if so, do you defrost them first?
I was wondering the same!
Me too!
Made this last night. Delicious and easy!!!!

Gina, can you chill these and serve as an appetizer, like shrimp cocktail?
Yummy is there any lime cilantro dick
I have been putting off making shrimp cause I had no idea how to cook it and what would taste good. I found this recipe and it turned out fantastic. great for a weeknight dinner. Lots of flavour. My 10yo daughter asked for the leftovers in her lunch the next day. I shared this on FB cause it was so easy and yummy
Made this recipe from your cookbook. One of my favorites.
This was delicious! Thanks for sharing!
I made these on Tuesday and OMG! This really may be my new favorite meal. Bonus – It took less than 10 minutes!
Shouts Shrimp Tacos to me.
This looks yummy! Definitely cooking this. Thank you!
This is absolutely a DELICIOUS dish! And very easy to make.
oh by the way……I forgot to add in lime juice to cilantro lime shrimp but hey it was really good LOL
I made this cilantro shrimp and it turned out excellent…….We didn't have JUMBO shrimp but I used large shrimp over 2lbs……and it is GONE!!!!!!!!! I confess that I was nibbling along the way before dinner…smelled so good and my 21 yr old was going for it as well. He also loves the ZOODLES too! I was testing it out before my husband tried it since he's so picky…he loves the cilantro shrimp. I also made pizza zucchini…….that too disappeared!! Gina…thanks so much for a low fat and low calorie recipies…..I will be looking for more good stuff!
I've been using your blog quite regularly for the past year, since I started WW and I have loved every single recipe I've tried!!!! This was no exception- it was delicious!!!! I followed with some other commenters and made it as a taco recipe. I used quac, sour cream and salsa with some lettuce and they were amazing. Definitely going to be adding this to the recipe index for the future!
Incredibly delicious and will make again and again! My husband, who isn't even a fan of shrimp raved about it! This begs for a day at the beach and a Margarita. 😉 I paired it with this Black Beans and Quinoa recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/quinoa-and-black-beans/detail.aspx
Also, I added on more squirts of lime juice to my bowl. So good!
Made this for dinner Tuesday night with the cilantro lime rice. Delicious! Can't wait to try more of your recipes!
The recipe says "1/4 teaspoon plus 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin". Where does the other 1/8th get added into the directions? Do you just add it all when seasoning the shrimp in step one?
I made this the other night and it was delicious! And easy, thank you!
So fresh, easy and delicious!
I love this recipe (helps that I'm already hungry for dinner!), it looks fresh and easy!
Corbin

mm sounds good over some white rice. I have some cilantro pesto that I can use for this! Thank Gina:)
http://elierey.blogspot.com/
I'm not big on shrimps but this looks great. I will have to try it to see how it tastes…thanks for sharing from 3girls1apple.com
Gina, this looks amazing! We will definitely have to make this soon!
Im getting hungry! This looks so fresh and deliciousl!
Yum. I forget about easy meals like this.
I love shrimp!
I love this recipe and the cilantro must be so delish!
I heard about your website on the today show, the same day I was planing to start a diet about a week and a half ago. So I decided to make some of your recipes. So far I've made only your recipes and I'm so happy that I've lost 3 lbs already!!! the best part, I don't feel like it's a diet because all the dishes are so yummy and my husband loves them too. I already told my friends about this website and I'm just so happy I found it… Thank you so much!!!!
Made this last night for dinner with some quinoa on the side. It was devine! my first of many skinny taste recipes!!
Will definitely be giving this one a go
I am going to make this tonight to go with my cilantro lime quinoa!! 🙂 It might be overkill on the cilantro and lime but I like to stick with things I love! 🙂 Thanks Gina!!!
I will definitely be making this once I finish my Dr Oz 2 week challenge 🙂
Yum!
www.loyalrun.org
I make something similar but usually serve it with pasta and add a little cream…not exactly "skinny" fare, but quite good!
I'm certainly going to try this version. I'm sure my waistline will appreciate it…
Yum! I have tried creating this dish myself, and it just hasn't come out the way I want it to. Definitely going to try adding cumin the next time!
I tested it out, and it was so good! I probably would use a little less lime next time, but the cumin made such a huge difference that I'm using it when I make Cilantro Lime Shrimp from now on!
If I need to not use any oil what would you suggest? vegetable broth? or water? for the saute?
I cooked my shrimp in coconut oil and it was delicious!
I made this with the creamy cauliflower recipe…sooo good!
Hi Gina? I tried this the other day. It was amazing. I'm asked to do it again today! This is like the 6th recipe I try from your site. I'm a huge fan. Thanks for all the work you do! Amazing.
Made this last night. Added a little cumin, chili, and cayenne pepper to the shrimp…DELISH! I made half the recipe and it fed my hubby, my daughter, and me. We ate them in lettuce wraps like tacos with a little avacado and tomatoes. I didn't have any left over though 🙁 oh well, just have to make more. Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipes, Gina!!!
I made this last night it was SO good! I found your website about a month ago and I've made 6 or 7 of your recipes so far. I love your style of cooking and the photos are great!
Just made this. Easy peasy and sooo yummy atop brown rice, with an orange and avocado salad on the side. Fresh, light and satisfying. Perfect pick-me-up for a dreary winter's day.
Absolutely amazing! Thank you for a new favorite!
This recipe is SO, SO good. I usually fry a little garlic in the oil before I add the shrimp (but only because I LOOOVE garlic), but other than that this recipe is perfect. It's a perfect, light, and easy recipe for the summer.
This dish was really delicious, but my shrimp were not orange brown like yours. What did I do wrong?
You either crowded the pan, or it needed to be hotter.
I used this cold and made lettuce wraps mmmm
You stated shelled shrimp? Do i have to take the shells off before i season and cook them? Sorry new to this trying to make a dish for my girlfriend and this looks delicious.
yes.. the shells have to be off… you can buy with or without, your choice.
Simple and delicious! I threw in a dash of cayenne for some spice & a splash of white wine and it's boyfriend approved. We just wished we had more shrimp to use!
This sounds delicious. Is there any way that I could turn this into a freezer recipe?
I suppose you can freeze them after you cook them. After all, the do sell frozen shrimp dinners.
Stumbled across thie site while I was searching for a shrimp recipe that included cilantro and I'm soooo thankful! I tried this recipe tonight for dinner and it was a sensation 🙂
Consider me a new fan!
If you use spray PAM instead of olive oil.. would this reduce the points? I have taught myself to limit oil.. and it seems it is not needed and PAM would work just fine-or even not at all with a non stick pan-I cut point wherever I can. Thanks!
Fabulous!!!
WOW!! I tried this last night added some sauteed yellow squash and put it all over angel hair pasta!! It was the perfect light summer dish!!
Really, really good! Will definitely make it again.
I made the cilantro lime shrimp last night and served it over cilantro lime cauliflower rice. It was delicious!
Gina, We had the Cilantro lime Shrimp last night. How can something so simple be so incredibly delicious? My husband said to "Thank Gina"!!!!
Hi Gina,
I so love your website. I was referred to your website through MFP and I'm sure glad I came here. To be frank, I'm horrible when it comes to cooking. I'm on a mission to loose weight and was very limited on the things I was cooking. I made this for dinner tonight along with your scallion cilantro lime rice and my husband super loved it. It was delish and will definately be making it over and over again. I can't wait to cook many of the recipes on here. Thanks!
Gina, where have you been all my life??
Every recipe I try is perfect and fits right in with the way we eat at my house.
I've passed your website on to so many friends!
Thank you thank you thank you!
Made this with cilantro lime rice. Soooo good!
Made it tonight for my bro and his family…served it alongside a quinoa/raw spinach dish, just warm garlic seasoned quinoa over raw spinach which wilts the spinach a little. Then shrimps either over it or on the side. Everyone had seconds. Thank you, healthy and delicious.
haha woops! Never mind! Found it!
How do I find serving sizes for each recipe? Thank you 🙂
I made this last night….OMG, it is now my new quick and easy and delicious dish!
Great recipe! Easy to prepare and low fat. Thanks for the recipe.
So delish! My first recipe from your site and it was easy peasy. Thanks!!
I made this shrimp and added them to lettuce wraps (Boston lettuce, shredded carrots, and bean sprouts). They were delicious!
Approx. halved and made for dinner for two – this was DELICIOUS!
I used half servings, added some fresh veggies, and it was a perfect portion for two, made with cilantro lime rice. Delicious! My husband said it was restaurant quality- 5 stars!
I absolutely love this!!!
I made this last night ….did not come out right. I am remaking this again but thks though for such fun recipes
I have made this my first time ever and it was absolutely delicious. I will certainly keep this recipe and make again. Thank you.
I've made this twice since finding you on Pinterest. It was a hit both times. Such a refreshing change from fried shrimp. I am a huge fan on cilantro so this one will definitely be on my menu often.
what an interesting blend of flavors! Was delicious, and will definitely be added to our rotation! Thanks for all these great recipes! ~Heidi~
Actually I get 6 points too, any help anybody?
I put the ingredients into the recipe part of the app and it worked out because shrimp are 0 points on freestyle.
I feel like I might be doing something wrong because I got a different points on another recipe
I just tracked this in my weight watchers and came up 6pts not 4
Yum! This shrimp looks fantastic!
Hi Gina, I'm loving your website and have already made a few recipes! I just had a question, so the garlic is only crushed not minced?
One lime for 2lbs of shrimp is not enough. More lime I say!! 😀
Very yummy, even my picky 7-yr old liked it! I put the shrimp on a bed of romaine lettuce and made a tangy dressing by mixing lite ranch, a squeeze of lime and a splash of OJ. It was delicious, like something you would expect at an upscale seafood joint.
What is the serving size in cups for 6oz?
Made this once and my husband asked when we can have it again. Who knew making a fantastic shrimp dish could be so easy?
OMG! This was amazing! My hubby and I chowed on it this evening and he said he would eat this more than a couple times a week. Which works for me since I am on a weight-loss journey! Thanks for the recipes!!!
We made this last night and it was a huge hit! Packed with fresh flavor and was ready quickly!
http://lexslifeasanewwife.blogspot.com/2012/01/cilantro-lime-shrimp.html
So yummy… everyone love it!
This recipe is on regular rotation for dinner in my house! I usually serve it with rice and a small salad. So simple and tastes great!
This is my Signature Dish at the annual beach week — but before cooking the shrimp, I sprinkle them with chile powder, cumin and cayenne. When the shrimp is cooking, I add a splash of white wine (it quickly cooks down). I make enough for about 16 people in several batches and serve it over lime cilantro rice cooked in chicken broth. The added spices give the shrimp more color as well as more Mexican flavor.
This was AMAZING! Just got done eating this for dinner and made the Fiesta Lime rice to go along with this, wow! My Boyfriend was very impressed, as was I. It was a quick dinner to prepare and the flavor unbelievable.
I'm a life time member with WW and just happen to stumble on to this site today. I will passing this on to friends and using this often. thank you
Sounds good. I will change the oil to coconut oil that is okay for high heat. Have you found an olive oil that is okay for high heat? I have heard that it goes rancid at a high heat.
Made this over the weekend. Love the simple ingredients yet super flavorful result….it was so good, I am planning to make it for a dinner party I am hosting for New Years. Great job Gina!!
Hi Gina! This was the first Skinnytaste recipe I've tried and I loved it! It was super simple, quick, and most importantly, delicious. Even my husband, who is a healthy-food skeptic, scarfed it up. I paired it with your Cilantro Habanero Rice and some steamed broccoli. Thanks for the time and thought you put into your recipes and the beautiful pictures that accompany them!
You don't normally want to re-heat frozen cooked shrimp, but maybe you can just pan fry it for a minute so it warms through before the second step.
So I was planning on making this tonight with some southwestern black bean salad and just realized my husband bought cooked frozen shrimp. Am I doomed?? Can I still make this and if so, how? I love your blog by-the-way! It's the ONLY place I go for recipes. I've made so many dishes and have never been disappointed!
I see your point… somethime I wonder if I knew what I was doing years ago 🙂
I'm going to re-make this and re-calculate so it's more specific. 2 lbs is a lot for 4 people!
I made these tonight and they were EXCELLENT. The perfect summer dish. I'm wondering though, is it really only 4 servings? I used 2 lbs of shrimp (weighed w/ tail shell on) but it seemed like a LOT of food and I noticed the servings were 6 oz which doesn't add up to 2 lbs for 4 servings. Not trying to nitpick just checking on the points value since I know I will be making these often. 🙂
I made this last night and it was AWESOME! I love lime so I added more than the receipe called for. I would definitely make this again.
Made this recipe this week and my husband and I loved it!!! We made it with my Spanish rice and corn tortillas, which boosted points, but worth it…haha! I just wish I bought peeled and deveined shrimp because deveining is so time consuming! Thank you for a great recipe and many more recipes to come! They all look amazing!
This was so quick and easy and yummy! Not to mention healthy!
Thanks!
I did an all skinny taste week. 7 different recipes from your website, and all were fantastic. The lime shrimp was fantastic as well as the grilled peaches, crock pot Mexican pork, and Waldorf salad. Thanks for your site.
This one was great! Thank you!
I just chop it fine and sprinkle it on top.
Gina,
I have made this a few times and both times I can't seem to get the Cilantro to stick to the shrimp….is there something else I can do?
I haven't but cold would be better than left in a crockpot.
Has anyone ever tried these the next day cold. I want to use them for a Mexican Buffet but I don't want to keep them in a crockpot to keep cooking them.
How about chopped chives? I think that would be great.
I made this last week and it was AMAZING!! Served it with Fiesta lime rice- perfect! My sister is coming into town w/ her family and I want to make this again…except she hates cilantro! What could I do instead (I'm clueless in the kitchen!) Thanks! 🙂
I made this today for dinner and it was the bomb.com! LOVED IT and will definitely make this again…soon.
We had this for dinner last night with a side of black bean salad. It was delicious!! Thanks for another great recipe!!
i also love making shrimp 576982 ways, it's pretty much replaced chicken for me!! its so point friendly! the photo looks great on this one!
Wow, this was delicious! We had it this week and it was a hit! Thanks!

I have made this a couple times already and it is fantastic! The second time I made it I added some cubanelle peppers that I sliced very thin at the end that gave it a little heat. LOVE all the recipes. There are three of us in my office who have made a lot of Gina's recipes and they have all been AMAZING. Looking forward to making more!
I made this last night and it was delicious! My husband raved about how good it was and told me to make sure I kept the recipe!!
Thanks Girl!!
I made this last night for the first time and didn't want to stop eating! By FAR the best shrimp I have eaten in a while!
Thank you so much for your site!
delicious! best shrimp I've had in a long time.
I buy frozen deveined raw shrimp all the time and thaw it before I'm ready to cook it.
Is everyone using fresh peeled and deviened shrimp or has anyone use the frozen? I know I see frozen sometimes but I think it is already cooked? I would like to have some "on hand" if possible, but if it doesn't taste as good, it won't be worth it!
Had this tonight with couscous and bruschetta with tomatoes and basil. So yummy!! Definately a keeper!! Thanks!
Quick, easy and delicious. If you don't like cilantro, it's equally good with basil and lemon instead of lime.
Making this one tonight! With a mango avocado salsa. MMMM
I am making this for dinner tonight and am going to leave out the cilantro as my husband doesn't like it. I'm going to add just a bit of red pepper flakes. The idea of garlic-lime-pepper shrimp sounds just as good!
Happy MMXI!
This has become my favorite shrimp recipe. I use this exact one for mexican dishes, but if you need to use shrimp in something italian I sub cilantro for parsley and lime juice for white wine. I make a basic lightened up cheese pizza and just pour the shrimp over the top. It is amazing!
Mary Ann- I love fresh herbs, they are wonderful to cook with! I'm so happy you enjoyed this, we love this shrimp dish in my house! I make it often! Enjoy and I'm glad to hear you started eating healthy!
This dish was awesome! My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary this weekend up in Orlando, and just like the past 6 months or so… we ate like crap. We decided yesterday to commit to a healthy menu, and after a couple of hours of research I found your blog. I made the cilantro lime shrimp tonight, and it was DELICIOUS!!! I've never actually used fresh herbs before, and the difference is amazing. My husband loved the meal and we've already planned our menu for the rest of the week using 5 of your recipes. Thank you so much for the great blog!
I made this tonight with a side of plain quinoa, sauteed mushrooms, and a salad. I of course had to add hot sauce and it was DELISH! Mom and I loved it. Thanks!
you won't be sorry!
note: i did zest and juice a lime + 4 or 5 good plugs of chipotle tabasco into the slang jane.
I'm intrigued, I'm going to visit Jill's site to see what slang jane is!!
made this today- wow, so good. i did add a couple things (i like stuff a little hotter): five of those sweet yellow peppers, chopped up… i want to call them pepitos but i'm not sure if that's right? anyway, i also added a bunch of crushed red pepper. the yellow pepper bits, with the green from the cilantro, the red from the pepper flakes all against that shrimp looked really amazing, kind of a confetti effect. it was SO DELICIOUS, too. i had to struggle to put them away before i ate a pound of shrimp, lol. i was thinking that that juice that you're left with would be great to drain, and put in the water for the rice maker for lime rice (if you're going to use it with the shrimp), or for shrimp fried rice or something.
anyway, tonight i had them on a little soft taco tortilla, and on top i put that slang jane salad from simpledailyrecipes and that was a winner for me, you should totally try it.
I'm so psyched for dinner tonight. Making this shrimp with some cilantro lime rice on the side. I'm sure it'll be another great dinner at my house thanks to you, Gina!
@Shortstack- You're welcome!
So grateful for this tonight! I was on the verge of making bad decisions… Nothing to eat in the house… Random bag of frozen shrimp, half dead half used bunch of cilantro and a lonesome lime. Viola! THANK YOU THANK YOU! Good decisions make me sooo happy!
Excellent – everyone at BBQ loved them – quick and easy to prepare, too!
I tested this one the other night before introducing it to my very picky friend that just started her WW journey…again. Delish! I plan to host a ladies luncheon featuring this and the cilantro lime rice. It was so easy, pretty, and yummy. Thanks for posting.
@Ruthie- My husband isn't thrilled about low fat either which is why I have to get creative in the kitchen :). Glad he liked it!!
I made this last week for my husband and I!!! He loved it and he is not thrilled about low fat food! It was DELICIOUS!!! I paired it with the cilantro lime rice with habanero! I love all of your recipes! Thank you so much, it makes being on WW easier.
Thanks! This one is made weekly at my house now!!
I made this a few weeks ago with the cilantro lime rice and it was delish! thanks for the great recipes 🙂
This was absolutely delicious. I also made your version of Chipotle's Cilatro Lime Rice! Perfecto.
Sounds great, I'd like to try it with Mexican rice.
This was so delicious, my husband made it for me as a surprise for Mothers day and it was a delight!
Fresh, light and we had it with rice and brussel sprouts, and I even made a light version of those biscuits you get at the red lobster, with reduced fat bisquick and some cheddar cheese and pepper…yummmy
Thanks Gina
I like Hydrangeas!! : )
Gina! You are amazing! My boyfriend wants to send you flowers. Thank you so much for this blog. Everything we have tried (7 dinners) have been beyond fabulous.
YOU ARE THE BEST!
I made this for lunch today! Delicious, thank you for the recipe. I served it on top of cilantro lime rice that I made earlier this week and reheated. I also used lime juice instead of lime since I didn't have one. it was great!
Excellent! I wish my daughter ate shrimp. She just discovered she's allergic so I guess it's just as well that she doesn't like it.
This was a delicious recipe. I used what I had on hand, which was frozen, prepared shrimp, bottled lime juice, minced jarred garlic, and fresh cilantro. The reaction of the oil, lime juice, and water from the shrimp made a "creamy" sauce, and I served these as tacos with leftover cilantro lime rice. I got a thumbs-up from 2 out of three kids and the husband (who eats anything)said these were good. I have enough left over for lunch tomorrow!!
Ha ha!
I made these the other night and believe me they were a hit!!!! I served them with a salad and steamed edamame from frozen section. I brought leftovers to work and everyone wanted to know which thai restaurant I got them from, haha!!!
I made Cilantro Lime Shrimp tacos last night….. Oh my goodness! So good, reduced fat sour creat, ww shredded cheese, whole wheat tortillas AND your 0 point Pico de Gallo. My boyfriend loved them and had no idea he was eating healthy
Love your site Gina keep it up!
I added 3 tbs of orange juice to this recipe to help sweeten it and balance some of the flavors.
@Lily- I love the sound of those tacos! I might have to try that next time I make this! Thanks for sharing!
I used PAM and no oil to save some points!
I ended up making the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos for supper last night. Served in Fat Free Flour Tortillas and topped with shredded lettuce and an avocado creme sauce that I made by throwing fresh avocado, reduced fat sour cream, fresh lime juice and fresh cilantro in the food processor and blending until smooth.
It was a DELICIOUS :). I served black beans on the side.
Thanks again Gina.
The Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice is an excellent dish! Glad you enjoyed it. I love the sound of Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos!!! Or even Tosdadas would be excellent!
I'm thinking……Cilantro Lime Shrimp Tacos for supper tonight. Can't wait to taste this one. BTW – I made the Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice on night this week and it was a huge hit with the whole family.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share these wonderful recipes and pics.
Absolutely fantastic! Can't wait to try another recipe.
Just cooked this for dinner over some pasta. I went crazy with the garlic and added some scallion. It was divine! Gonna make some more tomorrow for the whole family.
Tried this recipe last night…my family absolutely loved it! I love your site. The recipes I have used so far have been super easy & everyone loves them. They are asking when can we have it again!
@Goldy- Thank you! Hope you like everything. Look forward to hearing your feedback.
@Missy- You're welcome!
@Maggie- Glad to please your little one! Raw shrimp, not cooked.
@Lisa- Boredom leads to cheating, hope I can keep you inspired.
Gina I am new to this site and can not wait to try your recipes. This will definately help my boredom with my meals lately and keep me on track with weight watchers.
Lisa
I have tried many of your recipes this week after stumbling upon your site. Everything has been a huge hit! Even for my 3 year old who is never hungry!
Question about the shrimp just for clarification-raw shrimp, not precooked shrimp, right?
Gina,
I just tried the 2pt. Cake in a Mug from your Ask Gina section, and it is AMAZING !!! It is the perfect treat for when you are craving something sweet!! Who knew you could do that with only a cake mix and an angel food cake mix! YOU ARE GREAT!! THANK YOU !
wait where is this recipe???? dying sounds so good
Yum! I love lime and cilantro together.
I think I am going to try this without the cilantro. It sounds lovely for the warmer weather.
Cilantro is very good for the liver..don't leave it out
Gina, I am sooooooo happy to have found your site. I have copied so many recipes in hopes of making ALL. You have excellent photos. I know everyone who comes to your site has to be in awe of your excellent presentation. I wish you well and hope to make this shrimp recipe in about a week, as I do have shrimp on freezer.
This looks so yummy! I know what's for dinner tomorrow!
~Jenny~
YUM! I jus tone to pluck one of those shrimp off the screen 😀
I'm sorry to hear that! You could make it without the lime.
I have a really bad skin reaction to any foods containing anything citrus. i.e. lemons, grapefruit, limes, oranges, tomatoes, etc. Sometimes I even break out when I eat strawberries.
Many of the low-cal/low fat recipes call for the above foods since they are naturally low fat and good for you. Can you recommed any substitues for them?
Many thanks…Diane
How about a little vinegar instead of citrus. I'm thinking apple cider, champagne or red wine vinegar. The citrus adds an acidic element and flavor. You should be able to do the same with vinegar.
Looks yummy!!!!! I'm gonna try this one tonight 🙂
MMMMMMMmmm simple and delicious! Just so happen shrimp are on sale right now! ~LeslieMichele
I always forget about shrimp, and you have just reminded me how amazing they are! Definitely on my list of things to make!
Love shrimp and this looks divine!
I highly recommend this dish. This is one of those dishes you'll be makng again and again, trust me!! I had this with an avocado salad one night, and rice another. Yum!
@Kelly- thanks about my photos! I try! 🙂
Your recipes are great. But your photos are FANTASTIC! Great job!
I planned to make your Garlic Shrimp with some Cilantro Lime Rice for dinner on Friday night. Now I'm thinking this is a MUCH better plan! Too much cilantro? Too much lime? I think NOT! Thanks again, Gina!
Oh lovely! A delicious shrimp dish that isn't too hard to make, thanks for posting!

Wow this looks so good!! Thanks Gina!
