Frozen Berry Yogurt Popsicles

Frozen berry yogurt popsicles made with fresh berries don’t just taste great, they are good for you too! Fresh berries are some of the most powerful disease fighting foods, they are high in vitamin C and antioxidants.

Turn Your Favorite Smoothie Into Popsicles

I love freezing my smoothies in popsicle molds to make healthy summer snacks. I normally do just one flavor at a time but I thought it would be fun to make them into stripes. My original intention was to make these red, white and blue hoping the color of the fruit would achieve this naturally but the colors turned out more of a purple, white and pink. Still pretty and a great way to make colorful popsicles without adding food coloring.

Although the berries have a natural sweetness to them, I suggest you adjust the sugar or agave to your taste before freezing them. I bought my freezer pop maker from Progressive last year on Amazon, I am linking to it here for all of you who asked where I bought it.

  4. This looks fun to make. A very healthy and tasty recipe! Do you have suggestions for other fruits combination?

  5. I have the same mold as pictured and I made the Mango/Coconut pops, which were fabulous, but I had a terrible time getting the pops out of the mold one at a time when frozen. Any good tips?

  6. Another tip – don't push the stick all the way down to the bottom (like the one's in the pic)… only push them into the mold 3/4 the way down.

  7. I didn't have the molds so I used bathroom paper cups and popcycle sticks I had. Just run the paper cup under hot water for a few seconds and it slips right off. Great popsicles!!! thanks.

  8. I have never made this exact recipe, but it has inspired me so much.
It never occurred to me to make popsicles from freezing smoothies but now I do it at least twice a week. It's a great cheap and healthy alternative to ice cream and my kids would have it for dessert every night if I had the time to make it.
Thanks for the great idea. One day I may even make these pretty three-colored popsicles!

  9. My mom loves popsicles and she loves yogurt. This means that if I make her this she's going to be in heaven.

  10. These were awesome. I would highly suggest straining the blackberry/blueberry mixture to get the seeds out. Those weren't that fun. My favorite was the vanilla part, and I think I'm going to make some pops out of just that part of the recipe. But the kids and I really enjoyed this, and have patiently waited all day to get to slurp them up!

  11. Gina thanks so much for the link and all the great recipes. I just ordered the popsicle tray from Amazon.ca. Can't wait for it to arrive so I can make the berry yogurt popsickles. I just started back to Weight Watchers and love the smoothies but this will be a new twist and a perfect healthy "treat"!

  12. These look wonderful! I just made some with homemade vanilla pudding and chopped up strawberries today. Can't wait to try your recipe. I got this same popsicle mold from The Prepared Pantry

  13. I made these with Ice Candy Bags that I found on Amazon. Amazing! The kids loved them and I love that they are a healthy treat.

  14. i just made these yesterday! so delicious! although i had to add some splenda to the purple and pink parts, there were a tad but tart. also i have for small molds (each have 4 popsicles, only a dollar a piece at kroger) so their even less calories per Popsicle <3

  15. My 13 yr old has been watching me search your sight weekly now for a while. We've made several recipes a week and loving each one. She decided to look for herself (since your site is permanent on my toolbar!) and found these. She made them yesterday and we love them. Thanks for all the yummy recipes and for getting my kid interested!

Oooh, you are hitting me where it hurts. I am a huge fan of popsicles. In fact I always have some in the fridge (just pour juice or yogurt into molds, freeze) so I can keep my daughter's occasional craving for sweets at bay.

    Yours look totally lickable.

  17. I have reached the point where I NEED to do something and my daughter is thin, but wants to get into the best shape of her life in preperation for upcoming college cheer tryouts. Your site may just be the thing that allows us to reach our goals! THANK YOU for sharing!!!!!!

  19. I made these a for Independence day and they came out beautiful. My family was complaining about the seeds that were in the "blue" section of the popsicle. Next time I'll strain it before I freeze it and see if that helps.

Otherwise they are delicious and healthy!

  20. I got molds from a dollar store for the kind she has except they come with plastic sticks for them, same serving size.

  21. My family LOVES POPSICLES!!! These look terrific!! I have a Zoku Quick Pop Maker (http://www.zokuhome.com/pages/products-quickpop-maker) and will try this recipe this weekend!! Thank you!!!!

  22. These look delicious! I have made some for my two boys with non fat Greek yogurt and peaches. We had them for breakfast the next morning!

  23. These look awesome! I am curious if you have any recipes that use just blackberries as a fruit because I have a ton that I would love to use in a fresh healthy way. Thanks!

  24. Gina,
Thank you so much for these wonderful recipes! I started using your recipes in January and since then I have lost 60lbs. I just started a blog to talk about my journey. These look so refreshing! Thank you for this idea. I'm so trying this. I've been seeing recipes that include sweetened condensed milk in the popsicle, but that is NOT the way I want to spend my calories.

  32. Those Popsicle looked like they turned out pretty well. I have not made popsicles since I was a kid. I think I might just have to add this nice treat to the menu next time I eat. Thanks for posting the different recipes too.

I bought the molds on Amazon last year, I added a link to it at the top for those of you interested. It makes such pretty ice pops!!

Prerna, what a coincidence!! Would love to see your version, I just took a few of my smoothie recipes and froze them!

I thought the photo came out pretty too, thanks guys! Let's see if it gets accepted on Foodgawker!

  36. These look great!

I am lazier than you are… usually I just freeze my favorite brand of low-cal strawberry (or lemon, or…) yogurt as popsickles. ^^

  38. I'm cooking Kalua Pork in my crockpot as we speak and I find these yummy popsicles. I just bought fresh blackberries and strawberries at the farmer's market.

Where did you find buy your molds? I have been looking online and haven't found any where I can insert wooden sticks.

  39. Cool recipe! And once again admiring the photo! Love the creativity with the picture!!!! Well done!

I recently saw this recipe somewhere and its funny, I tried it a couple days back to wow the kids coming to a party at our house. They loved it so much that I said to myself that I have to share the recipe on my blog and today you posted on yours 🙂
    Great recipe love it!!

  41. My daughter has been begging me to make her some popsicles all summer, but she wanted to use Kool Aid (ick). This is a much better idea, and I think she will have fun coming up with the color ideas. I'm thinking we should add a little kiwi to the white yogurt layer – that would be so pretty! I'll be stopping at Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up some molds tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration!!
