Peanut butter, grape jam, peanuts, and fresh red grapes on top of a bowl of yogurt… who needs the bread!
This was inspired by last week’s trip to the chic new Chobani Soho Cafe. If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen some of my photos of the wonderful yogurt creations I got to sample – some savory, some sweet. If you are ever in the Soho area, you must stop in. The “priciest” yogurt is only $3.75 and they are served in a pretty glass bowl.
I got to sample all of their flavors, one was better than the next. I loved the Fig + Walnut and The Cucumber Mint served with pita chip was absolutely delightful, I plan on making this one next!
But since many of you live far from NYC, I’ve recreated a skinny version of the Peanut Butter and Jelly so you can make in your own kitchen.
I used reduced sugar grape jelly, but strawberry preserves and different nut butters would be fabulous alternatives. I went with a reduced-fat peanut butter, but PB2 would work great too!
PB + J Yogurt
Ingredients
- 6 oz fat free plain Chobani
- 4 tsp reduced sugar grape jelly
- 2 tbsp red seedless grapes, cut in half
- 1 tbsp reduced-fat peanut butter
- 1 tsp unsalted peanuts
Instructions
- Place the yogurt in a bowl.
- Top with jelly, then peanut butter.
- Sprinkle peanuts and grapes and grab a spoon!
I LOVE THIS!!! It’s the best part of the PB&J. I will make this over and over again!
so swag
I was skeptical of these flavors but they turned out great. I might try it with PB2 next times as I had meal prepped this and always has to sit it out for 20 minutes for the PB to soften from the fridge.
Question. Can you make these ahead of time?
Hello,
I love your meal plans and all you do
For us. I’m on Weight Watchers doing
The blue plan. Is it possible to change
Or swap a recipe on your free meal plan
For another of your recipes if it’s something
I don’t care for that’s listed on the meal plan
For the current week?
Thank you,
Cheryl
Of course!
Could this be made the night before?
This is awesome! If you like classic PB+J, then you will love this. It tasted just like it!
First time commenter, but I’ve been following for years. I love PB &J but I was skeptical about it with yogurt. I only adjusted the recipe bc I was unsure about the flavors. I used the yogurt in the recipe and the comments suggested pb2. I was in Aldis and saw peanut butter powder so I said what the heck and grabbed it. I dont like grape jelly but others used strawberry preserves and that’s what I had. I used small amounts bc I wasnt sure if I would like it. So 1 tsp of powder, 2 tsp of strawberry preserves, and 6 grapes cut in half. I really didn’t want peanuts. I took a bite and let me say that I’m looking forward to breakfast this week. And only 2 points for the win! Great for breakfast and/or snack. I will probably up the amounts but theres really no need. Tasted like PB&J with a glass of milk. Thank you so much!!!!
First couple of bites, I wasn’t sure. As I stirred and ate more it got better and better. I chose to use salted peanuts, because I love salty and sweet together.
Wasn’t sure I would like this, but it was delicious! Can’t wait to eat it tomorrow morning!
This is a satisfying start to the day! Simple and delicious. Great idea!!
I used reduced sugar strawberry preserves (1), vanilla PB2 (1), a wee bit of stevia and fresh strawberries/half a banana. So yummy…and only 2 points!!!
I work for Chobani R&D and am so excited to see/hear that you enjoyed your trip to the Chobani Cafe. There is so much that can be made with yogurt. Some recipes are on the Chobani.com page. Thank you for all your recipes. I use you for at least 5 out of 7 days every week.
Thanks again
Carrie
AMAZING! At first I tried the yogurt plain (knew I wouldn’t like it), so I decided to mix in the strawberry jam first and made it so much better. then a scoop of PB and all the toppings. Delicious! Would never think to do this. and the peanuts were a nice touch!
So glad I read your tip prior to making. I too mixed the yogurt with the jam before adding the pb. great call!
I was skeptical how this would turn out but I’m happy to report it was absolutely delicious! ?
I ran to the store to buy everything to make this. So excited to find PB2! I can’t believe how great it tastes without all the fat!!
This was just so delicious! My husband walked in while I was eating it so I let him finish it and he loved it too! Thanks for another great healthy alternative to the three o’clock crash!
Loved it!1
Pingback: Skinnytaste Meal Plan (May 21-May 27) – Spotlight Food
Came across this post and had to run out and get the necessary ingredients yesterday. Made it this morning and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Can't wait to have some more tomorrow!
I am new to portioning… Would this ALONE be a breakfast? I usually do oatmeal with raisins and walnuts, but this seems so small…
I wondered if you can use greek lite and fit yogurt and take pb & jelly and add it to that. Wondered how that would taste!
I was dying to try this but I was out of yogurt and had no peanuts lying around. I found a carton of french vanilla ice cream that had only one serving left, so i threw it in a bowl, added the grapes, strawberry jelly, and crunch peanut butter….SO good. It works great as a dessert too 🙂
This hit the spot! I ate it as a post-workout snack. I used sugar free grape jam and all-natural crunchy peanutbutter (which was a great substitute since I didn't have any peanuts on hand.). Thanks for sharing!
enjoyed this recipe for breakfast this morning!! Except i used strawberry jelly and fresh strawberries. Thanks for the wonderful idea. This has been the second recipe of yours this week I tried and I couldn't be happier with both! (first was lasagna and spinach roll ups!)
Not a huge PB&J fan but I made this today because I was looking for a filling breakfast–it was DELICIOUS! The yogurt knocked it up 100 notches. This could be my new go-to breakfast!
Did you ever end up making the cucumber mint? Reminds me of an old Lebanese salad recipe and would love your take on it.
Hmmm I bet this would also be good with sliced banana in place of jam & grapes. (((peanut butter and banana!)))
Yogurt is a must over the luncheons to make food refreshing
This really sounds delicious but I don't really like Greek yogurt, do you think this would be ok with regulat fat free yogurt?
sure!
I always get the strangest looks when I have the container of plain greek yogurt next to me and I crack open the jar of peanut butter with the jelly sitting there, too, but everyone I have had try it says it's amazing!
I love it with Peter Pan Honey Roasted peanut butter and strawberry Simply Fruit with Fiber jelly. If it wasn't so filling I could totally eat two cups!
Thanks Gina!
Really great! Post more recipes like this, please! Love this for breakfast, and would love other ways to perk up Greek yogurt. Thanks so much for the great idea!
Ive been eating this for lunch every day for a few weeks now. Its really good
But, I have to use dannon greek yogurt. Chobani has too much of a stomach acid taste to me. Dannon is much easier to stomach….hehe
Also, I use whole foods or trader jo's all natural no sugar or salt added PB. Better for you than reduced fat PB.
I absolutely LOVE this idea! I used PB and Co Crunch Time PB and my mom's homemade raspberry jelly and it was AMAZING! 🙂 This is my new favorite healthy breakfast/lunch! Thanks for your wonderful recipes!
This is just too cool!!! I never would have thought to use peanut butter and jelly on yogurt. You are so amazing. You always have the BEST ideas! 😀
I've been making PB&J greek yogurt for over a year now, I'm so glad to see it on your site where other people can see how amazing it is! Great way to get in a high protein breakfast when you're sick of eggs.
Get creative, use any nut butter along with any kind of jam, preserve, or fruit butter – my favorite is fig butter + almond butter, with a sprinkle of Fiber One on top for crunch.
This is so delicious!! I was making it for myself for breakfast when my 7 year old asked if he could try it. It was a huge hit!! This will be a staple for back to school breakfast!!
I absolutely LOVE this! I am not a Greek yogurt fan, but I keep buying it because I know it's so healthy. (I can do it as a sour cream sub, but just don't like it sweet.) However, this has won me over. I've had it for breakfast 4 times already, and I've told all of my friends to try it. I kinda want to shout it from the rooftops! Thank you!!
I like just about everything, and your recipes are usually wonderful, but this one was a big miss for me. Really disgusting, sorry.
OMG!! sooooo yummy!! I just had it for breakfast and it's the best!! Instead of grapes and peanuts, I cut up a banana in the yogurt. DELICIOUS!!
Made this last weekend and it was seriously hands down the best thing I have EVER had!! Thanks Gina!!
Not a fan of the plain yogurt taste…will definitely give it a second try with the vanilla version as the base though! Great after school snack!
I am always on the lookout to fill those wretched evening pangs with healthy snacks. This is just perfect!
I would never have thought to combine the taste of yogurt with PB&J but I had this for breakfast today using strawberries and strawberry Simply Fruit and it was GREAT. The cup of yogurt gives enough volume so I felt full and I love having a grain-free breakfast. Mid-morning now and I'm still going strong.
I had this breakfast this morning, it was excellent! So happy to have discovered your web site.
This is delicious! I added a little honey. I want another one now 🙂
Hi! Just nominated your blog for the One Lovely Blog award. Love your blog! http://styleoyster.blogspot.com/2012/08/one-lovely-blog-award-aw-shucks-thank.html
I have just discovered Chobani and love experimenting with it. Love this recipe!! Nothing better than pb and j in my opinion!
A chobani cafe…how awesome is that!? I am far from NYC though so, I guess I'll have to settle for making up some creations on my own. This PB & J version looks super yummy! I think it would be awesome with the strawberry jam version you recommended. I will definitely be giving this a try sometime!
Gina – your blog is beautiful! I just found you through TasteSpotting. Your photography is amazing, and your recipes look yummy.
I just started my own blog….a fun mix of two passions.
This is so simple & looks delicious! Thanks for sharing
I have yet to try one of your recipes I didn't love! This was a great snack, just as I was getting really bored with all my usual snack options!
Yum! This looks good- I'm still waiting for Chobani to hit shops in Qld but I might try it with diff yogurt.
That was really weird and really good! I will share it at my WW meeting next week. I shared your Tzatziki recipe today.
My sons will love this for breakfast this weekend! Just found your site and I think it will be my go-to site for menu planning! xoxo www.styleoyster.blogspot.com
this looks amazing. Anything with Greek yogurt is delicious! Can't wait to try it & I will have to start experimenting myself with this yogurt & come up with my own recipes. Thanks!
I tried this recipe this morning sans the grapes and peanuts (because I didn't have any) but it was DELICIOUS. I have a new favorite in the breakfast line up!
Any possibility you can do a posting (or two) on PB2? I had to look it up to see what it was and OMG, this could be a saving grace for me. I'm a HUGE PB fan and seriously could just eat it out of the jar. It could be that you already have done a post, just haven't been able to go and sift through your older posts.
Sure, I will do it soon. I buy it from Amazon, it's great!
http://www.iherb.com/Search?kw=pb2
Cheaper than Amazon here…I buy mine from them. PB2…love it!!!
Love it! PB & J and then P & G. Great Combo.
Hi Gina,
would it alter the points+ value if I used Better n Peanut Butter? Also, I bet it would be teriffic with vanilla flavored greek yogurt.
What is PB2?
It's powdered Peanut Butter without all the fat. You add a little water and you have low fat peanut butter, it's great!
i love your site! I visit it at least 3x a week, which is why ive noticed that for the last couple of days i havent been able to save the recipies to my recipie box. I click the buttom and it just saying 'processing' and never goes further. Would love to make sure i can save all these great recipies ive been seeing. Can you look into this perhaps? Thanks!
email support@ziplist.com they can help!
OMG would you believe I succumbed to a PB and J on whole wheat today at work with a banana on side for lunch since am still trying to go meatless! They even HAD chobani greek yogurt!! I WISH I had seen this post earlier! Instead I'm like "I shoulda thought of that!!!". Thanks for another great idea!!!
I know, pretty brilliant : )
I am going to try this with the hubby and I going to Hollywood Bowl tomorrow for Juanes concert! I am really looking forward to seeing how it turns out!
holy yum!
Oh My Goodgracious!
I used Chocolate PB2 and sugar free strawberry preserves, along with 1 cup of frozen unsweetened strawberries in ours. Sprinkled a tad Kashi Almond on it and we were blown away! (My 4 year old and I , that is lolol) I could only eat half of it, I was so full! Thank you for sharing this!!! Can't wait to see the others 🙂
Heading down to the city at the end of the month…SO putting this on my list.
I didn't know Chobani had a little shop! Not a surprise since I'm from Toronto. This is extraordinary! Chobani is my favourite Greek yogurt that's available in Canada. YUM!
It just opened!
I can't find Chobani in Quebec!
I've been following your blog for about six months and have lost 45lbs as a result. I cook almost solely from your site and my boyfriend can't believe that what I'm feeding him is all healthy. So … thank you!
With that being said, I'm OBSESSED with peanut butter (unhealthily so … like, I want to eat it like it's ice cream) so I came right home from work and made this as a pre-baseball snack. Now it's all I want to eat! I made mine with fresh blueberries and blueberry jam. Sooo good!
that's awesome!
Chobani is my absolute fav! Love the recipe….simple, yet delicious.
You know you should really stay away from reduced fat Peanut Butter. The fillers/additives are worse than a little extra healthy fat and 20 more calories. This goes for almost anything reduced fat
I just made this as a snack and it was delicious! Great idea.
Wow, Gina, thanks for posting this delicious looking recipe! I have been desperately craving PB & J but was hesitant because of the calories. This will be a wonderful alternative! Going out to buy the ingredients ASAP!
I also wanted to let you know that I have a few posts mentioning you primarily on my new blog, because you've been such an integral part of my weight-loss journey (I've dropped 40lbs!) So, if you have time, feel free to read! http://teacherellastales.blogspot.com/
Yum! This is such a fun twist on the classic sandwich. And I am definitely going to visit the Chobani Cafe the next time I'm in NYC!
I'm going to make this as soon as we finish the Creamy Grape Dessert you have posted. My daughter loved it. Thanks for the great recipes. My daughter thinks I'm a fantastic cook.
This looks like heaven in a bowl to me! Going to try this as a snack right now with PB2. Thanks for the never end inspiration to eat healthy!
That cafe is such a treat! I'll definitely have to stop by if I'm ever in the area! And this yogurt – what a wonderful snack idea! I've been a bad snacker so I definitely need this in my life. My skinny jeans are just too tight!
I recently saw grapes and almonds as a PB&J-type snack and I really wanted to try it- the addition of yogurt sounds like a fun twist!
Would pb2 taste good in it?
I don't see why it wouldn't!
I use it all the time in my yogurt and love it! My favorite is yogurt, PB2, banana and cinnamon.
I've actually done this with PB2 and sugar free strawberry preserves – It is delish!
Thanks for the reply! I'll try it! 🙂
I'm not so bright, what is PB2?
It is a powdered peanut butter substitute. It is way less calories but pretty good!
I just had this for breakfast with your Crustless Quiche Lorraine. My version of the yogurt was 315 cal, 2/3 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 Tbs natural strawberry jam, 1 Tbs crunchy peanut butter, and 1 cup strawberries.
Together it was a 520 cal breakfast and the perfect way to start my day!! Thanks!
PB2 in this is GREAT! If mixed directly into the yogurt with the jam or preserves, it takes on the consistency of a mousse. Mix all in a bowl with a whisk to fluff it up; the more PB2 the more dense the results. Dessert ideas? Absolutely!
as long as you mix it like it shows on the container it tastes just like pb and would work great.
I haven't had a PB&J in forever (too may calories =/) && I eat plain yogurt every day – I can't wait to try this recipe with PB2!!! Thanks!
I'm not a yogurt fan (I know, gasp!) but on oats, I could totally do this!
I've done this on oats for years and it's SO good! Try it!
Amazing! You just combined two of my food loves into one. This is a breakfast I am all over!
I loooooveee chobani yougurt. This looks amazing (and full of nutrition) Win-Win!
Your favorite jam and nut combo would be perfect.
oh man this looks interesting yet soooo good! cant wait to make it!
Looks great, although I am not a big fan of peanut butter or peanuts.
But will omit those things and I am sure it will be good…!!!
diane
Have you ever tried almond butter? I don’t like peanut butter either. Trader Joe’s carries a crunchy almond butter.. I use it in place of peanut butter.
This looks like a great breakfast!!
