Healthy Creme Brulee for breakfast? No, I haven’t lost my mind! The custard is made of yogurt and fruit preserves, topped with fresh fruit.
Healthy Creme Brulee
This healthy creme brulee recipe uses yogurt in place of custard. It’s great for breakfast or even dessert. It’s also super easy to make, with just 4 ingredients! Use your favorite fruit preserves and top with the same fresh fruit. Feel free to play around with the yogurt, I opted for sugar free and mixed a little sugar in to sweeten it. You can also use vanilla yogurt, or any flavor you wish.
I highly recommend using a creme brulee torch. I’ve tried using my broiler to caramelize the sugar with success most of the time, but it’s much easier to control this with a torch.
How To Make Yogurt Creme Brulee Ahead
This healthy creme brulee recipe is written for one but you can scale it up to as many as you like; assemble the preserves and yogurt ahead of time then add the sugar right when you are about to torch the sugar. If you add the sugar sooner, the sugar will be absorbed by the yogurt and it won’t work. I recommend serving immediately. Enjoy!!
