I’m over-the-moon excited to FINALLY share the cover design and concept for my second cookbook, Skinnytaste Fast and Slow: Knockout Quick-Fix and Slow Cooker Recipes.
Since my first cookbook came out, I’ve gotten tons of requests for more slow cooker recipes and quick dishes that take 30 minutes or less from start to finish. I’ve been listening and wanted to fill Skinnytaste Fast and Slow with the easiest, tastiest, most convenient healthy recipes—ever. And that’s what I did! This book has a total of 140 nutritious, flavor-packed, figure-friendly recipes—60 for the slow cooker and 80 that cook in 30-minutes or less!—so you can get a great homemade meal on the table any night of the week.
Here’s a sample of what’s inside…
Slow Cooker
Chicken and Dumpling Soup
Korean-Style Beef Tacos
Spicy Harissa Lamb Ragu (pictured on the cover)
Peach-Strawberry Crumble
Under 30 Minutes
Zucchini Noodles with Shrimp and Feta
Pizza-Stuffed Chicken Roll-Ups
Grilled Cheese with Havarti, Brussels Sprouts and Apple
Cauliflower “Fried” Rice
Each recipe includes nutritional information—from registered dietitian Heather K Jones—that will help you take steps toward your weight and health goals. Many dishes are vegetarian, gluten-free, and freezer-friendly, and these are called out with helpful icons. Also, this book has even more photos than the first, with 120 color beautiful photographs taken by Helene DuJardin.
If you’re on Weight Watchers, all recipes in the cookbook are listed here with updated Freestyle Smart Points.

I made the harissa spiced lamb ragu and it is delicious. However is the nutritional breakdown including the pasta? If so can I get it for just the sauce itself?
Amazing! I recently bought your other book and love every recipe! I have already lost 9 lbs!!!!
Gina-What is the recipe pictured on the cover of this book? I bought the book but am not sure which recipe this is.
I believe it’s the The Harissa Lamb Ragu.
I’m not usually a big soup eater, but that Chicken and Dumpling Soup is the. best. ever! Love your recipes. Have been a WW’s member for many years and their recipes can be a bit bland and boring. I’ve been using your recipes instead for about a year now and they are delish!
Thanks Jules!
Was hoping the ‘fast’ part meant that there was a focus on the pressure cooker! I hope your next book is PC recipes, my mom would think she hit the jackpot, thank you so much for all your recipes, it’s been about 6 years since I started following you & ive never not enjoyed a single one. So easy, so good!
Thanks Keri!
Hi! I’ve LOVED your book since receiving it for Christmas 2016. Will you be able to publish an updated list of WW points reflecting the new Freestyke version? I know that’s a lot to ask, but I’d really like to use your recipes…
Thanks,
Elaine
Yes you can find the updated points in the cookbook tab.
Can you also show the original smart points on your recipes? There are many people who don’t do freestyle. Would be much appreciated
Hello, my family and I are big fans of your recipes and we just got a 10-in-1 Instant Pot. We just made the Instant Pot Picadillo and it was ahhhhmazing! I am super intrigued by this book, and am wondering if I can use the Instant Pot slow cooker setting for the slow cooker recipes? I really want to get rid of my slow cooker and my rice cooker for the Instant Pot 10-in-1. Thanks!
Hi I tried making the slow cooker chicken and dumpling soup and cooked the dumplings for 40 minutes in the slow cooker and they were very doughy. Is that normal?
No, it should be fluffy. When making dumplings the most important thing is that the liquid is boiling. So if you take the lid off the slow cooker, it will not be hot enough. I keep it covered on high just before dropping them in.
Mine were very doughy too
I have your cookbook, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what the recipe is for the beautiful pasta picture on the cover. Can you please tell me what it is, as my husband really wants me to make it! Thank you.
The Harissa Lamb Ragu. 🙂
I am trying to follow Weight Watchers but cannot find the smart point values in your Skinnytaste cookbooks. The values are listed on the recipes you have posted online, but I need the conversions in the cookbooks. Do any of your cookbooks include the Smart Points values?
If you go to the Skinnytaste website, go to the Cookbook tab, click and scroll down, the SP are listed there. 🙂
For this book, do you also give the points for WW? Or do I have to figure it out?
If you go to the Skinnytaste website, go to the Cookbook tab, click and scroll down, the SP are listed there. 🙂
