Do you like to dip? I love dipping my sandwiches, chips, fries, veggies… basically everything in dipping sauces but that can add extra unwanted calories or points if you’re not careful.

This light ranch dip is a great low fat dipping sauce recipe for snacking. Serve it with fresh veggies like carrots, celery, or even great with baked fries.

Skinny Ranch Dip

  • 2 tbsp light mayonnaise, check label for Keto
  • 2 tbsp fat free plain Greek yogurt, full fat for Keto
  • 2 tbsp fresh chopped scallion
  • salt and fresh pepper


  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and serve.
  • Keeps refrigerated for about 2 days.

  1. I used more Greek Yogurt and added about 1 tsp of XVOO (extra virgin olive oil) in place of the mayonnaise.  I rarely have scallions on hand, so I used a little onion powder (maybe 1/2 tsp?), and I added a little dried parsley for color.  It tasted pretty good to us.  Fat-free or not, mayonnaise gives me the willies!

  2. OMG I am in love with this dip. I have made it the original way and then today I tried it with 1/2 tsp. of the dry powered Hidden Valley Ranch Mix… I am in HEAVEN! Love, love, love this!

  9. I am new to your website and have been cooking your meals for about a week now and have shed 5lbs ! thank you so much your food is simple flavorfull and delicious. I made this dip the other night and wanted to try it out as a dressing so i simply added 2 tbls of water to the mixture and it turned out FANTASTIC!!! and the water didnt add anymore points as buttermilk would and it didnt have that dilluted taste to it. Cant wait to try more recipes !

  10. I made a dip with a packet of Hidden Valley ranch dips mixed with a 16oz plain, fat free greek yogurt for new years! Everyone loved it and you can barely tell the difference between the yogurt and sour cream!

  14. I really like ranch that tastes like ranch at the buffet table or the ones you get where you want to dip your fries into. I am assuming it's Hidden Valley Ranch. Someone told me to go buy Bolthouse Ranch, uh yeah did not taste like that ranch at all. So I was just thinking I might as well make the real Hidden Valley Ranch and just use 1 Tbsp of it and I am sure it's one point + and that is all I need for myself anyway. 🙂 But if someone can come up with the closest Ranch that tastes like that Ranch, that would be AWESOME.

  18. Add some fat free buttermilk for a thinner dressing. I'll post a recipe for ranch dressing soon. I still have buttermilk in my fridge from my cilantro dressing.

  19. Made this tonight as a dipping sauce with the sweet potatoe fries. It was really tasty and creamy. Added a little garlic powder and fresh parsley. Gina how would you suggest thining it out to use it as a salad dressing? I am in love!! lol
