Peach Pie Cottage Cheese Bowls is a delicious, high protein breakfast made with fresh, ripe summer peaches.

Peach Pie Cottage Cheese Bowls

Cottage cheese topped with fresh fruit is a quick and healthy breakfast or snack. It’s such a great combo, cottage cheese brands (like my favorite Good Culture) sell it that way.  But if you look closely, there really isn’t much fruit in them.  These Peach Pie Cottage Cheese Bowls, on the other hand, are loaded with fresh ripe summer peaches that are lightly caramelized with a little brown sugar and hint of cinnamon.  With only about 2 grams of added sugar (the rest is from the fruit) and a whopping 31 grams of protein, these bowls keep you satisfied and are sure to make it into your weekly rotation. Peach Cottage Cheese Bowls

Is cottage cheese and peaches good for you?

These cottage cheese bowls with fresh peaches are loaded with fiber and protein making it a healthy breakfast. It’s also lightly sweetened, letting most of the sugar come from the sweetness of the in season fruit. Enjoy this for breakfast or even as a snack, or dessert.

Variations:

  • Try this with other stone fruit like nectarines or apricots
  • If you don’t like cottage cheese, this would also be great over yogurt
  • Make a peach ricotta toast by subbing out cottage cheese for ricotta and serving over toast.

My Doctor told me to add 1550 grahams of calcium to my diet every day, This helps me so much. Thank you, I love it.

  3. This has become my new go-to breakfast. So good and so easy to prep. I need to try it with frozen peaches for when fresh peach season is over.

I was so excited to try this recipe and I only had frozen peaches. It still tasted really good. I cooked it for 3 to 4 min instead of 1.

  5. Will the peaches reheat well the next day? I see the serving is for two. I have never had fruit on my cottage cheese.

I’ve just started making this recipe, it’s super yummy! I didn’t alter the recipe at all…it’s a keeper to top not only my cottage cheese but my yogurt as well!

  7. This recipe was absolutely fabulous. I used some chili roasted pistachios to give it some heat and didn’t do the cinnamon, honey or brown sugar. I will make this again and again.

  8. I love all your cottage cheese bowls, but this and the Caprese one are my favorites. It’s so delicious in the summer, especially.

  9. I made this for breakfast today. It was delicious. I added the pistachios and honey which gave it an extra layer of flavor. 5 stars!

  10. This was delicious. I drained a can of peaches and used those instead. The pistachios, or some other texture, really makes this dish pop.

  11. Who knew this could be so good? I put everything in without cooking because I was in a rush. The pistachios and cinnamon make this dish. Guilt free.

  12. Dessert for breakfast. Great recipe. It works for peaches, strawberries and mangos. It is very good with pecans for a Southern taste. Thank you

  13. Dessert for breakfast. This is so good and easy to modify. I usually make half the recipe
It is also good with strawberries (cut small and add 2 tsp water). It works with defrosted peaches in the winter. Pecans instead of pistachios give it a nice Southern taste. Do you know how long it will keep in the refrigerator? Thanks for another yummy recipe.

  14. Wowzers this was good! I made it 3 mornings in a row as I had amazing ripe peaches. This was different and I am so glad I tried it. It is delicious! : )

  15. The recipe is really delicious on ff Greek yogurt too 😊, but as written it comes up to 7 pts on the WW recipe builder. 1 cup of low fat good culture is 5pts alone. Did I count something wrong?

  16. Very good and filling. Second day of eating this I subbed a mix of walnuts & a chopped up brazil nut for the pistachios

  17. My son has a nut allergy – if I used hemp/chia seeds to replace the pistachio, would I use the same amount? (1 tbsp) to get similar nutritional value?

  18. I love cottage cheese with fruit and nuts and the peaches slightly cooked are a nice add to this dish. I am thinking about trying this and substituting the peaches with apples.

This recipe taste good and is so quick and easy. I’m definitely keeping this in my breakfast rotation.

  20. Hi….I was wondering how long the peach topping will last in the refrigerator? I wanted to make the filling ahead of time for meal prep but keep it set aside from my yogurt/cottage cheese for a week worths of breakfasts.

  21. This makes two large portions. The peaches plus the pistachios were a great combination. Very filling and satisfying

  22. Oh my gosh this is good. I’m a cottage cheese fan and this was quicker and easier than I expected. I added chia and flax trying to bump up the fiber.

Peaches and cottage cheese are in my grocery cart!

  23. This was delicious and so easy. I made it with the cottage cheese once and then with Greek yogurt. Both were very tasty and I finished off with a smidgen of maple syrup. Will serve again when guests come this summer!

    1. We’re lucky to get peaches that good here only RARELY so I’m glad to see this. I just wish I liked cottage cheese more.

  24. Delicious and filling. I used a bit more cinnamon and maple syrup instead of honey (as I was out). Definitely will make again.

  25. Delicious and satisfying! Perfect balance of sweetness and savory. Loved every bite of it. I didn’t have fresh peaches so I used frozen ones. Cooked a little bit longer. Next time I defrost the peaches ahead of time. Adding this recipe to my regular recipe rotation.

  26. A few small changes I made… I whipped the cottage cheese in my Kitchen Aid. I used Date Syrup instead of brown sugar & pecans instead of pistachios. Such a great recipe! Never like cottage cheese until now!

  27. Absolutely delicious and very filling! I did not use the optional drizzle of honey, even though it no doubt would be delicious. I will definitely be making these again for sure.

  28. Quickly looked at the recipe, and didn’t read you were supposed to cook the peaches.  I just threw everything into a bowl, uncooked, and it was still heaven in a dish!  Quick and satisfying.

  29. Yum!  I used granola instead of pistachios because that’s what I had.

Easiest way to skin peaches:  cut in half, remove pit, place in a heat safe pan in the sink.  Pour boiling water over and let sit for three minutes.  Put into cold water.  Peels come right off 👍

  30. Hi Nina. This is such a simple yummy quick recipe.
I use pecans instead of pistachios for a southern taste.
I cannot wait for your next cottage cheese recipe. Every cottage cheese recipe on this site is budget friendly and yummy .

  31. Simple, fabulous, I could’ve licked the bowl!! Absolutely delicious!!! I’m having it again tomorrow! If you used ricotta, it would make a great filling for crepes!

  32. I’ve made this twice since I saw the recipe 3 days ago. Phenomenal taste!  Very filling, too!  So far, I’ve used fresh peaches that just came into season here in upstate NY. Could easily make with frozen peaches, too.

  33. Oooh I love this! A nice cool breakfast for tomorrow. I will use nectarines, brown monkfruit and fat free Greek yogurt. I have walnuts; it will come to a whopping two points total for them . Thank you so much for your meal plans and your great recipes. Down 120 so far and I use you a LOT.

  34. I made this for breakfast and all I can say is don’t knock it until you try it! First of all, the peach topping is a keeper. It would go so well on so many things, like oatmeal, yogurt, etc. but also how about a grilled pork chop or chicken breast??? I think it would be great! Also you could easily substitute pineapple for that peach and get a different but also delicious topping.

And as a side note, I didn’t have any ground cinnamon but I did have pumpkin pie spice which is mostly cinnamon so I used that and it was fine!

Hubby doesn’t like cottage cheese. But he said it “grows on you” and the more he ate the better he liked it. By the time he finished the bowl he was hooked. Me, I like cottage cheese and as I guess is obvious from my starting comment I like that mix of sweet and savory. This topping is not overly sweet and I loved it.

Don’t leave out the chopped nuts though. It needs that bit of crunchy texture. But you could use another type of nut, or maybe granola if that’s your thing.

5* highly recommend as they say!!!

  35. This is delicious! A keeper! The flavors are perfect together. So simple but special. Followed recipe exactly.

  36. Peaches and cottage cheese goes together very well. I made this yesterday when it was too hot to cook.

  37. Soo good! I made this with nonfat Greek yogurt since my cottage cheese had gone south. I sweetened the peaches with 1 teaspoon of golden monkfruit instead of brown sugar. Then toasted some chopped pecans (added salt and another teaspoon of golden monkfruit) and topped the peaches and yogurt with the “candied” pecans. 10/10 recommend! I will make this again!! Thanks for the idea, love your recipes Gina!

  38. This sounds perfect! My son and I love cottage cheese bowls, especially sweet ones. And I have all of the ingredients. Sorry I’m rating before trying, but I trust you we love your recipes so much and I tell everyone I know!

I had the same question, thanks for asking it! Around here (Iowa) we can get fresh peaches for about 3 heavenly weeks per year. The rest of the time… we need options LOL.

  39. This sounds delicious to even have as a dessert instead of a breakfast. I usually mix diced apples, walnuts, cinnamon and honey in my cottage cheese. I can’t wait to try this combo out. Thanks for all your recipes, you have made my WW journey easier.
