An open faced sandwich on Ciabatta bread with mashed avocado, sliced tomatoes and grilled chicken. A perfect way to use up leftover chicken.
Grilled Chicken Sandwich with Avocado
Avocado is a wonderful healthy option in place of mayonnaise and it adds such great flavor. Yesterday I mentioned how good tasting bread is crucial for me in the sandwich making process, and Ciabatta is another fat free option I love to use. Although it’s usually fat free, always double check the labels.
I made this an opened open-faced for the photo, then realized once I started eating it that it’s easier to eat if it’s closed and it’s also more portable for lunch on the run. I’ll leave that up to you!

Is the smart points reflecting only half of the bread or both pieces of breads if you were to make it an actual sandwich and not open face?

How many freestyle points? Maybe I’m missing it
The old Smart Points now reflect the new freestyle points so 4 would be correct.
Just tried this… There was some serious deliciousness going on! Thanks Gina!
Just made this and omg delicious! I am living my everyday life using your recipes and my family loves it too!

Made this with some left over Mediterranean Chicken. Soooooo good!
I just found your site and I LOVE it already! All your recipes are amazing and my family love each and every one of them! My family and I don't mix milk with meat, so it is always such a struggle to figure out a non-milk with meat sandwich recipe and something WW user friendly. I just can't wait to try out this great recipe, and double goes for my family! Thank you Gina, your recipes are great!
I just wanted to give a shout out to Gina! This is one of my families favorite recipes. We've had this many times since I started Weight Watchers over a year ago. Thanks to you and your recipes Gina according to my weigh in yesterday I have lost a total of 40lbs. If it weren't for you Gina this process wouldn't have been nearly as easy and nearly as tasty. So thank you!
Our family has hit some hard times so I am no longer able to afford Weight Watchers but we still use your recipes to help try to stay close to being on track!
Had this for lunch today and it was not only fabulous tasting, it was also very filling! Thanks so much for all the wonderful recipes.
Me and my hubby ate this for dinner and you get 4 thumbs up! Yummy! He said it was right up his alley and i am making it for his lunch tommorrow.great recipe!
Definitely my favorite website! Everything I mimic from your site always taste delicious! Thanks!
I made this for lunch yesterday and it was amazing. I didn't have lemon so I made the chicken with Mrs. Dash lemon pepper. I also couldn't find ciabatta at the grocery store so I used Orowheat thin sandwich buns- multigrain and toasted it a little. Definitely a keeper!
Sometimes I marinate it in fat free Italian dressing, other times I just add salt and fresh pepper.
This sandwich looks delicious and I'm making them tonight!
Do you season your chicken with anything before grilling? Or marinade it in anything?
Thanks!!
Just salt and pepper.
Love making all kinds of meals and sandwiches and I must say that all your recipes are so colorful and tasty even looking at them makes me thinking about what I have in the fridge, do I have everything needed or I need to go to the store, unconsciously, it's not usual really..
Making this for dinner tonight…looks delicious!
a perfect sandwich, I like it
un sandwich perfecto , me gusta
Had this tonight and loved it! Definitely a keeper in the recipe file. We did find it better to put the chicken on before the tomato, because our chicken kept falling off the other way around. Thanks so much for posting this one! Great summer sandwich!
This looks delicious! I must follow you now.

Made this last night, and it was DELICIOUS! I will definitely be making this a few more times before summer ends!
YUM! I had this for lunch today and it was SO delicious!
I really like that you use crustier bread for your sandwiches- I've been getting bored of plain ol' multigrain bread and I have a sandwich every day for lunch… this is a great way to mix it up! It's totally worth the few extra points…
Hi Gina,
THe last two sandwich recipes look great! We have been going to the farmer's market every Saturday and picking up really good bread and making panini. I may try this sandwich soon, though!
This looks delicious! Right up my alley. Thanks for sharing. Easy recipes are the way to my heart 🙂
This look delicious!I I love your recipes.

I'm sure that would be great!!
Add a few Mexican seasonings (mainly cumin or fajita seasoning) to the chicken, add grilled onions and you have yourself a Mexican Torta. Bravo Gina! You make us all think and be creative!
The calorie count was 130, so you can subtract that.
I find grilling thicker breasts on the grill, then cutting them after keeps thE chicken juicy.
Simple, beautiful and I am sure…delicious! I totally agree with you on the tomatoes! Homegrown and farmers market ones are the only way to go!
Hello, I found your site from MFP!
Thank you for making your site. Im a recovering ED (3 year now) and everything you have on your site looks wonderful.
I was wondering. What would be the calorie count without the Ciabatta Bread?
Thank you
Renae
This chicken looks so moist and delish. Do you have a recipe you can share with us to help us make the perfect grilled chicken??
This looks amazing! I just wish I could find the yummy looking tomatoes that you always have in your pictures.
Just had this for lunch…it was FANTASTIC!!!
I did modify it a little bit…I added a pinch of garlic salt to it….AMAZING!!
Thanks Gina!
Kim
That looks divine. YUM.
Sounds great! Definitely printing this out!
Lucky me I have leftover chicken from our tacos last night and just so happen to have a whole avocado ready for me to use. All I need is the bread. Yummy!
Oh my…. I'm on Weight Watchers, old points and I LOVE Avocado and Chicken together.. Thanks so much for posting the old points! I LOVE this recipe!
Grace- This would be great in a wrap!
Kristina- Thank you!! I hope I can help put some fun into your weight loss journey!!
Sarah- It would be the same, I basically cut it in half and closed it.
My local supermarket has wonderful bread in the bakery section, but I also go to bakeries and my local Italian deli. They have amazing bread!
T.Irwin – I never used to like tomatoes but learned to love them. Summer tomatoes from the farmer's market are so much better than supermarket tomatoes.
YUM! I wonder how this would taste as a wrap?
I will be trying this one for sure. I don't love tomatoes, but this looks super tasty and my mouth is watering.
I love your recipes as I am working on adding better foods to my life (fruits, veggies). Thank you for sharing.
Where do you shop that you are able to find such great bread choices?
That looks so good!! I love smashing avocado on, well, anything!
Chicken and Avocado together has to be one of my favorites things! This sandwich has me starving!
Wow this looks great! I couldn't agree more with a sandwich like this since it has one of my favorite ingredients to compliment the chicken which happens to be the avocado. Great Post!
This looks delicious. I just found you recently and I have to say that I love your site!
Looks awesome, are the points values listed for opennfaced or closed face?
