If you need a quick appetizer to bring to a holiday party that is easy and everyone will love, this is it! The quickest holiday appetizer recipe yet so impressive and delicious!! Made with only 5 ingredients and takes about 15 minutes to make!

Baked Brie Phyllo Cups

Make these pre-dinner bites in 15 minutes or less! I’m a huge fan of baked brie, so naturally I love these bite sized Baked Brie Phyllo Cups which are so easy to make! For the topping, I thought using dried cranberries would be pretty for this time of year and I used honey as my glue to keep everything in place. And the taste? So good and takes about 15 minutes to make!

How To Make Ahead

You can prepare these Baked Brie Phyllo Cups a few hours ahead then pop them in the oven when you’re ready to serve.

Variations and Tips:

  • Trader Joe’s sells a light Brie which is what I used here, Presidente also carries one.
  • A wedge of brie would be enough to make two batches, so if you are serving a crowd, you can easily double this recipe.
  • Swap the honey for maple syrup
  • Swap the walnuts for pecans

  1. These were just wonderful! My husband and I are not big fans of Brie, but found the Wee Brie at our local Ingles and decided to try.  Made both varieties- and loved them! Such a surprisingly elegant little appetizer!

  2. I can not find the shells, could just cut a couple of sheets of phyllo and push them into a tart pan? These look fantastic!

  3. I can’t find the phyllo dough cups due to grocery store shortages, any suggestion for a substitute?

  4. Amazing!

I took them to a party today and everyone wants the recipe. It’s like a party in your mouth. I couldn’t find the light brie but today I wasn’t trying to have a low calorie appetizer, so just used regular brie.

  5. I can find Wee Brie. Just wondering if that would work.

  6. Can I use creamed Brie if I can’t find the wedge? Presidente has a double cream Brie that looks good

  7. I make baked Brie with puff pastry and figs but it’s not a skinny version. I’m going to try this with just a part of a fig in each cup. Sounds wonderful.

  8. Are the shells baked before filling? They look browned around the edges. in photo showing cheese cube. Am I missing that instruction?

  9. I don’t think I have ever seen light brie. Where did you find it?

  10. These appetizers are so good! I’ve followed Gina’s recipe and made these several times and they always receive rave reviews. Thanks Gina!

  11. What could you substitute for the nuts? I’m allergic.

  12. Hi Gina, Can you use wonton (skins)wraps if you cannot find Phyllo cups?

  13. I love baked brie. This was a nice skinny-twist on a classic.

  14. Delicious!!! Enjoyed by everyone!

  15. Loved these! Made them as appetizers on Christmas Eve (as suggested by your meal plan). Only problem is that it’s hard to eat just one and easy to eat three or more. Nice and fast appetizer to make – which is so important for appetizers and any tiny individual serving item. Would be great to keep some phyllo shells on hand in the freezer (along with the other ingredients) for throw together appetizer or snack for any drop-in guests. Fancy, fast and delicious!

  16. This recipe was UNREAL! The quickest thing yet so impressive and delicious!! I doubled the recipe and brought to our Christmas Eve party- everyone loved it and couldn’t stop eating them!

  17. Everyone loved these and I have had several requests to make them again and again

  18. Adorable and yummy!

  19. Question: I have a potluck coming up at work. Can I make these the night before and keep them warm in a crockpot until they are served?

  20. Can everything be confined the day before it’s baked ?

  21. I made these yesterday for a Friendsgiving celebration! They were absolutely delicious! So easy to make and very pretty when plated. I will definitely be making these again! Very festive this time of year!

  22. We did these last year wat Christmas time and they are the best! They flew off the table. I am making them again this year for parties and the major holidays! Thank you!!

  23. Do you think I can assemble these, freeze them and then bake them in 7 days? Trying to prep some things ahead of our Christmas party next week. Thanks!

  24. Made these 4 times and never had anyone who did not like them.   My favorite appetizer

  25. Made these last night for a get together, they we're amazing! My guests had no idea they were "skinny" thanks a bunch for all your great recipes.

  26. Made these last night for an Oscar's party and they were a huge hit! I prepped them early in the day and then baked them right at the party. Super delicious and the phyllo cups didn't get soggy at all.

  27. So the Phyllo cup does not get soggy if I prepare it ahead of time? I am just concerned because I am hosting a party saturday night and wanted to prepare them tonight.

  28. To answer the question I read several times in the comments and that I also had, these do not need to be eaten immediately, in fact they are delicious the next day! I took them to a party yesterday and they were cold by the time we started to have appetizers. Several people commented on how good they were, they didn't know who had made them. A real hit! I've also made the pecan filling and they are just as delicious.

  29. Make these for a Christmas Eve get together and they were a huge hit!! Thanks for another delish recipe Gina!!

  30. Made these for Thanksgiving and they were a hit! So much so that I had to brave the grocery today just to get more cups so I could serve them again tonight! Best part….no one knows they're "skinny"…Lol!

  31. I made these with lite cream cheese that someone else had suggested instead of the brie. They were awesome! They have helped me stay on track while cooking for Thanksgiving. The BEST two points I have had in a while. And much healthier than any of those snacks in a bag you can buy at the store. So easy to make and I will make this recipe again and again, as I do almost all of the recipes I use from your website. Thank you, once again, Gina!

  32. Oh stop it! These are absolutely DELICIOUS. Thank you for another great recipe!

  33. Gina, finally was able to print yay!!!!!!!!! Trying this recipe for Christmas! or sooner. Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!

  34. This is my new favorite food blog! Thanks for the recipe… can't wait to try it this week.

  35. I typically make these but top them with either red pepper jelly or peach preserves. Love this twist on it. Will be making this tonight for my girlfriends!

  36. Amazing recipe for Sunday Funday!!! Thank you so much for sharing this gem. I am making mine tomorrow with dried cherries.

  37. Thank you so much for THIS recipe along with all the recipes you compiled under "Appetizers" – I have been searching for healthy hors d'oeuvres for my graduation party next week and I plan on recreating SO many of these recipes, including the guacamole deviled eggs and buffalo cauliflower… brilliant! Thanks again, huge fan of Skinny Taste – my go-to food blog.

  38. The first time I comment and I screwed up.

I made these (well, kinda) today. I made the cups myself with 4 layers of phyllo each and butter in between them. I baked them for about 5 minutes. In the meantime I combined craisins, sliced almonds and since honey is too sweet for me I added a dash of pomegranate-cranberry juice. I took out the shells from the oven, added a tiny cube of brie and a spoonful of the almond mixture and baked for 10 more minutes and I turned the oven off. They were a hit! Thanks for the recipe Gina, you make me look like I actually know how to cook.

  39. These were SO easy! I made these as a last minute appetizer and they were a huge hit. I'm not exactly sure the difference, but I used the Laughing Cow Light Brie and 3 ounces of their cheese is 3 triangle pieces. I used just 2 triangles and divided them amongst the 15 cups and it was plenty, so I'm thinking the ones I made might have had a slightly lower calorie count. I will definitely be making these again. What a great idea, thank you Gina! 🙂

  40. I really want to make these but can't get mini Phyllo cups here in Spain…I was thinking I could use puff pastry but am not sure about the form; should I try and make one big one and cut it into pieces? Or? I have a dinner party coming up and would love to use this as an appetizer. Love your website, btw!!

  41. These are AMAZING!! I made them for a family get together so I doubled the recipe and there was a coin flip to see who got the last one! Gina, you have made eating healthy and staying on plan easy. My family and I thank you so much for all the hard work you put into providing these tasty recipes.

PS: I am married to a Puerto Rican and he loves the Carribean recipes. Thanks so much!

  42. I've made these a few times now…a hit every time!! Bringing them to a wine tasting party tonight! I've been doing the pre-bake as mentioned on the box of mini shells suggests for extra crunch…I highly recommend! Thanks for sharing this recipe!!

  43. Hi gina! Love the idea of this but I'm allergic to walnuts. What are your feelings on replacing the walnuts with sunflower seeds so it still has a crunch?

  44. Another twist on this is use pepper jelly and toasted pecans, walnuts or sliced almonds on top. Yummo

  45. I made these for an appetizer for Christmas Eve and they were a huge hit. Making them again for an appetizer party. So good….

  46. These are deeeeeee-licious. We quadrupled the recipe for our Christmas cocktail party of 20 people, and all 60 were gone in no time. I prepared the nut topping early in the day and let it sit out, cut the brie into cubes and refrigerated. Just had to assemble and pop in the oven right before our party started! Tasted great when they cooled to room temp as well as hot out of the oven. These will become a staple for our parties of all sizes!

  47. Do you serve this warm, at room temp or cold???

  48. If I wanted to bring these to a party, could I assemble them ahead of time and pop them in the oven at the party, or would the phyllo dough get soggy? Liz

  49. I'm in the process of making these for a party I'm going to tonight. Yum…I'm excited about them! Just wanted to share that it's really easy to make your own phyllo cups…I just made some using this recipe and they turned out great: (you don't need as much butter as she uses – just a light brushing).

  50. Oh that looks so yummy, great, thanks for sharing this, i will surely try this.

  51. I have used tart cramberry sauce made with splenda on this and also a chopped spinach great at the holidays

  52. Ok, when I plan my holiday party – I'm coming here for food!

What a great hand held taster!

  53. Hi Gina! Do you think I could make these and then transport them to a party, or are they best served straight out of the oven ? Thanks! -Jennifer

  54. A great recipe, I have traveled all round the world but I have never seen something like this before. This can make the table attractive.

  55. LOVED the mini pecan pies recipe last week-took to thanksgiving dinner. They were delish even tho I forgot the vanilla! These look even easier to make – pretty holiday appetizers.

  56. These were amazing. I made them flow a small dinner party and they were all gone in no time. My only recommendation would be to get the Brie close to room temperature before putting in the oven. No one could believe this was "light"! Thanks Gina.

  57. I have some goat cheese at home…I think I'll try that with this!

  58. These look amazing! One of my favorite things my mother used to make for me growing up was brie & raspberries in phyllo cups 🙂 I can't wait to try this version for a holiday party

  59. Mmm. I made these this afternoon. My husband and I loved them. I had brie for the first time just a few months ago. I loved it and couldn't believe I hadn't tried it sooner. This was my first time preparing a dish with it. This was super easy and turned out wonderful!

    • If you love Brie then you can google recipes for brie cheese! I did a brie/carmelized onion with apples over the thanksgiving holiday and it wa a hit. i used the pastry sheet instead of the cups, but jus recently did the cups with turkey bacon, scrambled eggs/brie cheese! G.L.& enjoy 🙂

  60. I made this for Thanksgiving this year as an appetizer and passed it out to my family as we were cooking. It was a hit!!!

  61. Lovely! I might trying using a little leftover cranberry sauce instead of the Craisins. And maybe a little laughing cow cheese for those who aren't brie fans. Have bookmarked to try soon.

  62. Wow….brie, cranberries, honey and nuts… all of my favourite foods in the same cup!
This is going to be sooo good.

  63. I made these for thanksgiving app today and they were my favorite thing I ate! I ate two more instead of desert! Even the non-Brie lovers approved!

  64. Yummo! Happy Thanksgiving!

  65. Can these be made ahead of time and served a few hours later, or should they be served immediately? I'd love to make these for our Thanksgiving celebration tomorrow!

  66. I will be making these for a dinner party Saturday. Great timing yesterday for posting this.
Happy Thanksgiving to your and your family from a Canadian across the border. I am so grateful for all the hard work you put into this site and the wonderful recipes I have been able to make and share with others.
