Chopped salad with romaine lettuce, Feta cheese, cucumbers, red onion and dill tossed with a simple red wine vinaigrette. An easy side salad to go with all your Mediterranean dishes.
Chopped Feta Salad
This is great with grilled chicken, steak or try it with these Za’atar Grilled Lamb Chops!
I’ve made this quick and easy side salad quite often these past few weeks for dinner, Tommy loves it! The dill and Feta combination in this salad is delicious! If you have some leftover grilled chicken or shrimp, or even a can of chickpeas, you can easily add it to turn it into a main dish!
Variations:
- Add cherry or grape tomatoes
- Add pitted olives such as Kalamata or Castelvetrano
- Add canned chickpeas
- Swap the red vinegar for fresh lemon juice
- Turn this into a main dish my adding diced grilled chicken or shrimp.

Just made this again tonight (a year and 3 months after my last comment). I forgot how good this was. My husband and I enjoyed it for dinner tonight with a piece of grilled chicken. The only thing I added was a few kalamata olives. Again, thanks for sharing all your wonderful and healthy recipes.
I’m bummed I love your recipes but you don’t put fiber on your recipes. Help me
There IS fiber listed in this recipe. But if it wasn’t, do the work yourself and use an online calculator to figure it out.
Do you want her to chew it for you too? 🙄 figure it out. It’s not that difficult
My husband and I loved this salad. I cut it in half, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. As several others have said in their comments – the dill really makes the salad. I might try adding some kalamata olives next time.
Your recipes are always so good.
My family, who are not big salad fans, really loved this! The dill really makes it.
This salad paired perfectly with Gina’s Za’atar Lamb Chops.
This is one of the best salads I have ever had!! Who knew that dill could be so delicious!! It makes this salad. I added pickled beets to mine. Yum!!
Wonderful recipe! So fresh tasting. I think the fresh dill was the answer and crisp romaine–not that pre-chopped stuff. Will be making this all summer!
Excellent Salad, I wasn’t sure if I’d like it, but oh man I loved it! I added sweet cherry tomato’s and shallot no oil at all just fresh lemon juice and had it with the Za’atar lamb chops. A truly special meal. I cook for myself and it can be a challenge to adapt a recipe for one, so I guessed. Impressive meal, I will be sharing it! Thanks
Could you use arugula instead to avoid romaine lettuce? Thanks!!
Sure!
So simple and delicious! Love the added Dill and lemon! I added baby tomatoes and a side of salmon.
Great!! Yes, the dill and lemon really make it!
This would be CRAZY ahhhhmazing with grilled lamb, like your Za’atar lamb! Â I’ve made something similar, adding oregano to the dressing and water to stretch it a bit. Â Thanks, Â for another great salad that brings so much to a meal!
Hi! I just started the weight watchers program. I know most veggies are 0 so I’m just wondering what makes this 5 points. When I looked at it I thought it would be a lot less. Just curious and trying to learn the ropes! Thanks 🙂
Oil and cheese!
Try with a reduced fat or fat free feta. Also try with a smaller amount of oil to reduce the smart points.Â
IMHO, fat free feta its’t worth it, use the full fat stuff and maybe reduce the amount if you don’t want to spend the 5 points on it. A little really can go a long way. Or add chicken and have it for dinner. I’d skip the feta before using fat free, its tasteless and chalky. Just not worth it. The beauty of WW is you can make dishes with slightly more points fit in your day if you plan properly and adjust elsewhere.
In reply to the comment about possibly using fat free feta….I agree with the person who said it’s chalky and not worth it. BUT…if you can find the reduced fat feta, it’s a good compromise. Not as creamy as full fat, but not bad, and it brings down the points.
