Make these pre-dinner bites in 15 minutes or less! I’m a huge fan of baked brie, so naturally I love these bite sized Baked Brie Phyllo Tarts which are so easy to make! For the topping, I thought using dried cranberries would be pretty for this time of year and I used honey as my glue to keep everything in place. And the taste? So good and takes about 15 minutes to make!
How To Make Ahead
You can prepare these Baked Brie Phyllo Cups a few hours ahead then pop them in the oven when you’re ready to serve.
Variations and Tips:
- Trader Joe’s sells a light Brie which is what I used here, Presidente also carries one.
- A wedge of brie would be enough to make two batches, so if you are serving a crowd, you can easily double this recipe.
- Swap the honey for maple syrup
- Swap the walnuts for pecans

Do you think I could substitute crumbled goat cheese for the Brie?
Can I substitute crasins for dates?
What kind of cheese?
These were just wonderful! My husband and I are not big fans of Brie, but found the Wee Brie at our local Ingles and decided to try. Â Made both varieties- and loved them! Such a surprisingly elegant little appetizer!
I can not find the shells, could just cut a couple of sheets of phyllo and push them into a tart pan? These look fantastic!
I can’t find the phyllo dough cups due to grocery store shortages, any suggestion for a substitute?Â
Amazing!
I took them to a party today and everyone wants the recipe. It’s like a party in your mouth. I couldn’t find the light brie but today I wasn’t trying to have a low calorie appetizer, so just used regular brie.
I can find Wee Brie. Just wondering if that would work.
Can I use creamed Brie if I can’t find the wedge? Presidente has a double cream Brie that looks goodÂ
Sure
I make baked Brie with puff pastry and figs but it’s not a skinny version. I’m going to try this with just a part of a fig in each cup. Sounds wonderful.
Are the shells baked before filling? They look browned around the edges. in photo showing cheese cube. Am I missing that instruction?
No need to.
I don’t think I have ever seen light brie. Where did you find it?
I bought some at
Trader Joe’s. 🙂
Trader Joe’s has light Brie
These appetizers are so good! I’ve followed Gina’s recipe and made these several times and they always receive rave reviews. Thanks Gina!
What could you substitute for the nuts? I’m allergic.
Pepitas or sunflower seeds or coconut?
Hi Gina, Can you use wonton (skins)wraps if you cannot find Phyllo cups?
I am sure you can you may have to prebake them
I love baked brie. This was a nice skinny-twist on a classic.
Delicious!!! Enjoyed by everyone!
Loved these! Made them as appetizers on Christmas Eve (as suggested by your meal plan). Only problem is that it’s hard to eat just one and easy to eat three or more. Nice and fast appetizer to make – which is so important for appetizers and any tiny individual serving item. Would be great to keep some phyllo shells on hand in the freezer (along with the other ingredients) for throw together appetizer or snack for any drop-in guests. Fancy, fast and delicious!
Glad you enjoyed them!
This recipe was UNREAL! The quickest thing yet so impressive and delicious!! I doubled the recipe and brought to our Christmas Eve party- everyone loved it and couldn’t stop eating them!
Everyone loved these and I have had several requests to make them again and again
