The only way I make salmon these days is in the air fryer. It’s the fastest and easiest way to get the most tender piece of salmon with seared edges. Plus, there’s no need to preheat the oven, and it doesn’t make the whole kitchen smell like fish. This Chili-Lime Salmon is so tasty as is, or try it topped with Avocado Mango Salsa! Chili-Lime Salmon Ingredients

  • Salmon: I used fresh wild salmon filets, but you can also use thawed frozen fish
  • Spices: Tajin Classic, salt, garlic powder, oregano, smoked paprika
  • Toppings: Finish the salmon with fresh lime juice and chopped cilantro

What is in Tajin seasoning?

Tajin is a mix of chili peppers, lime, and salt. If you don’t have Tajin, substitute it with chili-lime seasoning from Trader Joe’s or other brands.

How to Cook Salmon in the Air Fryer

Air frying salmon is so quick and easy!

  • Spritz the salmon with oil and rub with all the spices.
  • To prevent the salmon skin from sticking, spray the air fryer basket with oil (make sure it’s “propellant-free”) or line it with air fryer parchment paper with holes.
  • Put the salmon in the basket with the skin side down.
  • Air fry the fish for 6 to 8 minutes, depending on the thickness at 400F degrees. No need to turn the fish.

What to Serve with Chili-Lime Salmon

I love to top this chili-lime salmon with a fresh salsa like this Avocado Mango Salsa or Watermelon Salsa. You could also serve it with Cilantro Lime Rice, Black Beans, or Skillet Mexican Zucchini.

The salmon would also be great as fish tacos or on a salad. And don’t forget about the drinks – make a margarita or paloma to go with your meal. ¡Salud!

  1. First time making salmon in the air fryer. Absolutely delicious!! Love the combo of spices!

  2. This came out perfect

  3. I’m not one to leave reviews online, but as soon as I tasted this salmon tonight, I knew that I HAD to tell everyone how amazing this recipe is! I make salmon at least once a week, usually on the grill, because my family loves it so much, but this seemed so easy I wanted to give it a try. This is hands down the best salmon I have ever had! Not only is it incredibly easy to make, but the salmon turns out perfectly in the air fryer! This will be on the menu all the time now at my house!

  4. Is cumin in the recipe? It’s listed in the instructions but not in the ingredients. 🙂 love your recipes! Thanks!!

  5. I absolutely loved this recipe. Served white rice, salmon next with a homemade mango salsa to top it off. Served with a side of avocado. Perfection.  I used Trader Joe Chili Lime seasoning.

  6. Loved the seasoning on this, a favorite! Since my Air Fryer no longer works, and I have not yet decided on another, I baked on parchment 350 18 minutes and it was perfect.

  7. This was delicious. I made it in the oven and made the salsa with peaches instead of mangos since that’s what I had. I paired it with rice and ST zucchini fritters. We loved it.

  8. Oh my!  This was delicious!  I am obsessed with this chili lime seasoning also- I love the Tajin as it is,  but with the spices you added-  it is over the top!  I’ve used it on salmon, trout, and even tuna steaks- Thank you!

  9. I was afraid this might be dry, but it was perfect. I made mine in the air fryer. Excellent combination of flavors. I didn’t have the ingredients on-hand so I didn’t make the salsa but I know that would be delicious also.

  10. Great recipe and really a nice one. Will surely try this

  11. How much cumin do you add?

  12. Super easy and pretty good. Definitely a little too salty for me. Next time I’ll leave out the added kosher salt, I imagine that will help!
