No time for breakfast? Make a smoothie! I love this combination of bananas and pineapple to create this Pina Banana Colada Smoothie –a little taste of the tropics to start my morning.
Pina Banana Colada Smoothie
I love making a quick and healthy smoothie when I have to bring my breakfast to go. Some other favorites are Chia Watermelon Fresca, Summer Mango Stone Fruit Smoothie and Bali Banana Date Smoothie.
Pineapples are rich in enzymes, which is great for your digestive system. It’s also an excellent source of vitamin C. I like to throw in some chia seeds, but it’s completely optional. Along with bananas, this smoothie is high in fiber, vitamins and a perfect start to your day!

I know the word banana is in the actual recipe name but is there an alternative (nothing too crazy and hard to find), especially one that doesn’t overpower the pineapple taste?
Thank you in advance!
Hi Gina! How long will your smoothies last in the freezer? I want to make the night before and take to work. Do you think that would be possible? By the way, you’ve helped me lose 29 lbs a few years ago and have continued using your recipes to keep my weight stable! You are incredible!!
I would prepare the solid ingredients the night before in the blender, then blend with the base milk just before you need it.
Made this today since its 90 degrees in the north east! It was absolutely delicious – not too sweet, great flavor.! I added half scoop of vanilla protein powder… delicious! Thank you Gina!!
I’m a little confused on the SP that were provided. It’s showing only 4 for this recipe however when I calculate it on the new WW website it’s showing 7 SP, how could there be such a huge difference?
The only accurate way to determine any recipe’s SmartPoints® value is to plug the ingredients into the recipe builder on the Weight Watchers website (Click on “My Foods,” select “Recipe,” and click “Create a recipe.”) which does not count fruits and vegetables in recipes in the calculations as they are now 0 points.
The SmartPoints® calculator isn’t meant for recipes and will often give you the wrong points (usually higher) because it’s counting the fruits and vegetables. So if you see a recipe with a SmartPoints® value that’s different from what the calculator tells you, now you know why.
I am getting 7 Smart Points. And if it's blended, doesn't that add even more?
this recipe is more than 4 smart points. I left out the coconut, but put the rest of the ingredients in the recipe builder on WW and it comes to 6 Smart points. You need to account for the fact that the fruit is blended.
I'm afraid this smoothie is loaded with extremely high sugar/carb content. Not too good for those who avoid excessive carb intake like the plague. 🙁
This smoothie had me at Pina Banana Colada. Will definitely be pinning this to my Vega Smoothie Pinterest Contest board under "Best Smoothies" for later. Never tried shredded coconut in a smoothie before – YUM!
SO GOOD! I've made it 3 times. As long as you have bananas the other ingredients last for awhile. So easy and good!
