I seem to be on a banana kick lately. These simple, guiltless baked bananas taste similar to Bananas Foster and you'll swear there's butter in there! Great served with whipped cream, fro-yo, chopped nuts, raisins or even served with oatmeal. Bananas are so good for you, they are naturally sweet and rich in potassium, which plays an important role decreasing the risk of high blood pressure and stroke. Enjoy this for dessert or breakfast!

ReplyDeleteLooks so tasty!

I tried this at home and I loved it!
ReplyDeleteThis was delicious, the only thing was, I think that covering it made them very mushy, because all the steam stays in the pan. Next time I'll leave them uncovered and see what happens. The flavor was fantastic though!
ReplyDeleteI just tried these....AMAZING...love the blog
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine tried for these for 3 of us doing WW and they were UNBELIEVABLE! Thank you so much for creating such a fabulous treat! It's definitely a keeper.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I love how easy they are too!
ReplyDeleteGina-made these last night and they were so delicious! My husband loved them. I was thinking about making this again and substituting sliced apples for lower points. What do you think?
ReplyDelete@Maggie- Sure give it a shot! I would experiment with one first. Pears might be nice too.
ReplyDeletethis looks amazing. I used to do the same thing as a kid but instead of splitting it in half, I used to chop up the banana into lots of slices.
ReplyDeleteI just started WW and I love to cook and when I found your website I was elated. I could cook and eat. The recipes are delicious and easy. My children have really enjoyed trying new recipes with me. Thanks for sharing your talent.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Melissa!
ReplyDeleteGina,
ReplyDeleteI love your recipes and pictures and I am thrilled that you include the points values for all of them!!! I am following WW and it is great to see how you've made these delicious recipes point freindly. You should publish a book! I would definately buy it!
We LOVED these! I actually just sliced them and put them on my stone. I didn't cover them at all and they were super yummy!
ReplyDeleteYummy! Made it last night and some bites definitely had a Bananas Foster type taste to it. om nom nom! =) Had it with a small scoop (1/4 cup) of regular ice cream and it totally hit the spot~ will definitely make again. [I forgot to cover it, but it was fine to me... had it in for about 12 minutes)
ReplyDeleteThis recipe was good but not one of my favorites on you website. It's me...I think I discovered that I do not like warm banana's
ReplyDeleteWOW! I never in my life thought I could enjoy doing WW. My first experience was great, however, I was not married and cooking for a husband at the time, so eating the Smart Ones was just easier for me. Now that I have a husband AND a 4 month old daughter, I have to please the husband while getting my pre-baby weight back and this site definately makes it possible for me to stay on track and also help my husband stay on track, since he IS in the Air Force and maintaining a healthy weight is important for him as well. I can now cook ONE meal for two people instead of cooking for him and then for ME. Thank you so much for expressing your talent to all of us. It means so much to me!!
ReplyDeleteSo I take it you liked the bananas? LOL I'm glad you are enjoying weight watchers!
ReplyDeleteOMG YES, I LOVED THEM, so did my husband.
ReplyDeleteCan you have the whole banana or half of it for 3 pts?
ReplyDeleteThe recipes are delicious and easy.Great blog and this information is very useful to everyone.
ReplyDeleteWow! I just came across your website and I'm loving all the recipes. I started WW about a month ago and I'm really changing my diet around. This website is amazing! I'm glad you have the WW points too - it makes it so easy! I loved this recipe, it was such a treat :-)
ReplyDeleteDo mini marshmallows have a lot of points? We used to do this when I was a kid but we would leave the banana in the skin, make a slit and poke marshmallows in, seal them up in foil and put them in the camp fire or on the grill....this recipe takes me back!
ReplyDeleteMarshmallows are fat free, but high in sugar. A handful doesn't have too many points, I love this idea!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a great midnight snack, since I always have bananas around. And I love how even if your bananas have many brown spots on the peels, this will still work wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteNow with bananas ZERO I do this but use FF Cool Whip (zero) and what a warm treat! This way it is ONLY 1 PT! This is GREAT!!! THX!
ReplyDeleteYUM! So good - add a dollop of Cool Whip Free and it's an amazing dessert (now 1 point on the new plan!) Will definitely make again!
ReplyDeleteOn points plus would this only be one point for the honey? Cause that is quite the dessert for only one point!
ReplyDeleteOk, I made this for a mid-morning snack and it was yummy! I did modify it a little bit. I used brown sugar instead of honey, and I put 1/4 tsp of vanilla extract drizzled on top. I baked mine for 7 minutes (don't like mushy bananas at all) uncovered in my toaster oven. So yummy! Thank you, Gina!
ReplyDeleteWhy is it 4 points? banana's are free now?
ReplyDeleteWhen you use fruit in a recipe, they are no longer free, you need to base points off the nutritional info. I know, I know! I don't like it either, I'll leave it up to you to decide if you want to count them or not.
ReplyDeleteThis was absolutely fabulous and tasted great. I will definitiely make this over and over again for a delicious dessert. I love this site so keep up the great work :)
ReplyDeleteYum! I love all of your recipes!! Just curious... why is the points value 4? I thought bananas were 0 points now, and 2 tsp of honey is only 1 pt.
ReplyDeleteOops... just read your post above... sorry! I think I will call it 0 points for the banana, though :-)
ReplyDeleteGina.. i just made this. Can i just say that this is my new guilt-less treat. i absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE these. sooo delish and healthy :)
ReplyDeleteyou're a genius.
I am going to try this right now! just watched Buddy the Cake Boss make Banana's Foster! So glad I have banana's in the house!
ReplyDeleteI am confused as to why the calories increase when you put the food in a recipe. Could you explain it to me? The nutritional values change? I am not sure I understand.
ReplyDeleteThe calories remain the same, it's the ww points plus that people are referring to. If you count calories, disregard all the comments.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry. I meant points. I just started Weight Watchers so I am learning the ropes. I am used to referring to categories.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I meant calories not categories. I am a mess!
ReplyDeleteMegan, fruit is only 0 if you snack on it alone. Otherwise you count the NI when used in a recipe.
ReplyDeleteI made these last night for desert after making your baked empanadas. My husband's family is Puerto Rican and (fried) empanadas are a childhood favorite of his. I'm happy to report he LOVED the healthy version and he thought the baked bananas were a nice addition to replace (fried) sweet plantanos. I'm already kicked this recipe out to all of my friends.

I made this tonight and served it with vanilla frozen yogurt. My fiance and I split it and it's a good thing I had already promised him half because if I had been home alone I would have eaten the whole thing! So yummy. Thank you for combining these flavors. Tastes very logical but I would never have thought of this myself.
ReplyDeleteI really love these bananas! Especially with ice cream. :)
ReplyDeleteJust wondering why this is 4 points...A banana is 0pts and honey is only 1pt? Worried I'm missing something! Thanks :) I love love love this site...everything is very easy to make and nothing has failed me yet. So delicious!
ReplyDeleteFruit are only 0 points if eaten alone, as a snack. When used in a recipe the points increase because they are not truly 0 points... the nutritional info doesn't lie.
ReplyDeleteI tried doing this last night for dinner and they loved it! I cooked mine inside an oven toaster for about 10-15 mins. It was a success. A guilt-free dessert indeed!
ReplyDeleteSoooooo good!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis recipe *might* have revolutionized my breakfast habits. I just discovered your site a week ago and have already made 5 recipes and had these bananas for breakfast 3 times. I have smashed them and spread them on whole wheat toast and bagels...so delicious. Thanks for all the great ideas - I cannot wait to try more!!
ReplyDeletei was really confused about the calories for this until i realized it was TSP not TBSP honey! whew! i almost made these super sweet! im glad i caught it or else i would have sweeeeet bananas and lots of unneeded calories!
ReplyDeleteThis was delicious. My husband and I just finished eating these. I baked on 400 for 12.5 minutes (uncovered) and added honey and cinnamon sugar. What a great treat! Thank you for all of the wonderful recipes!
ReplyDeleteFirst time poster here :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this simple yet delicious creation. Even my fiancé, who hates anything veggie and fruit, loved it!
I think next time I'll bake it uncovered or take the cover off half of the time for some crisp. Im also thinking about trying it with some halved apples.
Thanks again, my taste buds are happy!
I love how most of your recipes are ingredients that are in the kitchen. Thanks. Clam Chowder was super.
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm just in a cooking mood today, this is the 2nd recipe I've made! I made these for dessert! Delish! I had some extra points left and threw on a tbsp of chocolate chips. Honestly, it hit the chocolate need perfectly because the banana makes the chocolate seem much more rich. This will probably be my go to chocolate fix for a while!
ReplyDeleteI made this for a dessert after lunch for my daycare kids!! They loved them!!
ReplyDeletemade this for dessert last night and they were awesome! my husband looked at me after he ate one (i only made two bananas since i was testing it out) and made me make MORE! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove bananas! This should be gooood!
ReplyDeleteHi Gina, what kind of ice cream (or other) do you have paired with the bananas in your picture? Looks delicious, love your recipes!
ReplyDeleteDELISH!!! Just made one of these. I added some cocoa powder and used 1/2 the honey. I don't know why you have this as a points plus value of 4. Banana is 0 points and 2 tsp of honey is only 1point. This would be a 2 point dessert on points plus. ENJOY!!!

I love bananas...actually I am the only one eating bananas at my house. So instead of using the whole oven for one banana, I “stove top” baked them. It turned out great. Thanks Gina for the idea.

Thank you so much for creating this. I use them on my sons pancakes instead of syrup. He loves bananas, its healthier and I know what is in it. We all love them.
ReplyDeleteyummy! they are very delicious.
ReplyDeleteThese are very good! Just made one as an afternoon snack!
ReplyDeleteMade this tonight as a snack..it was so good! I had it with low fat frozen Cool Whip...which I scoop out and use as I would ice cream.
ReplyDeleteWOW I just ran across this website and am so excited to learn to cook new items!
ReplyDeleteI made these tonight and added sesame seeds to it! SOOOO YUUUUMMMMMYYYYY!!!!! Oh yeah! =)
ReplyDeleteI made these last weekend and my husband loved them! I added a little bit of chopped walnuts for on top! Yummy. Thanks for the recipe :)
ReplyDeletePinned and will make them asap! :)
ReplyDeleteYum, I made this and put it over oatmeal. Delicious!
ReplyDeleteDELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't cooking anything other then your recipes in 2 months now! LOVE your site!
ReplyDeleteAwesome recipe! I just made one and it tasted really good!
ReplyDeleteYUM! I loveee bananas! Never tried baked bananas but from the looks of it i'm in for a real treat! I love that it looks like a desert but yet is incredibly healthy for you! Bananas do soo many amazing things they even help with cramps for all you ladys out there grab a banana! :O What kind of icecream is that in the picture?! It looks great! Thanks again for another amazingg recipe! ☺
ReplyDeleteCan you do it uncovered?Someone mentioned they were mushy?
ReplyDeleteI wouldnt count my banana either. Just like if I were to cook asparagus and toss it in rice it suddenly doesnt make the asparagus have points. Fruit is 0. Now if I were to make a banana cake or apple pie, that might be different, but not for something like this. JMO
ReplyDeleteTrying this tonight for dessert!! :)
ReplyDeleteI made this without the honey, because I had no more points left (lol), and it was still DELISHHHHH!!!
ReplyDeleteMMMmmm....can nobody see that the fat is replaced by sugar.
ReplyDeletesame deal- it all turns to fat on the body!
Banana- one of the highest GL fruits +honey/agave!!!
Look out insulin spike:-((
I tried this recipe tonight and it was awesome! I also made some strawberry banana ice cream with just frozen bananas and strawberries and candied pecans. It was great. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI just tried this, and it was surprisingly great! I wasn't sure if I'd like it because of how mushy it would be, but I loved it. Then again, I'll eat almost anything with cinnamon on it.
ReplyDeleteSo quick & yummy! Had it with a small scoop of frozen lowfat vanilla yogurt!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Teresa, the bananas don't need to be counted, as this is not a really a "recipe", like banana bread or pancakes or something, but is really more of a preparation. From WW:
ReplyDelete"If your “recipe" is truly just a few pieces of fruit, then you might want to record it in your Tracker as separate items or as a “meal" — the latter looks at each item separately and then adds up all the PointsPlus values. Because all the items have 0 PointsPlus values, the total will also be zero."
Gina,
ReplyDeleteCome to the podium for another Gold medal! Wow, this was a perfect 10! Thank you for all you do to make us happy & healthy!
You rock!

What a great little treat... I love bananas and sometimes it is nice to make them for dessert. This would also be great wrapped into a crepe.
ReplyDeleteJust made these on a rainy night, and oh my goodness, they were amazing! You never disappoint, Gina! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if I can use brown sugar instead of honey?
ReplyDeleteSure!!

ReplyDeleteOk what if I want some sort of crunch on top, as if In the banana gets crispy , should I leave it longer?
ReplyDeleteThanks many blessings!:)
I have been a WW member for years. I went back when points plus was still pretty new. I lost 20 lbs. and have never counted fruit when I made something with it. This seems more like it should be 1 point just for the honey. I have never heard you had to count it if put in a recipe. Wow, I am surprised. I have not been in a good wile and I do not know what their newest thing is. I just stay with what I know.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the recipes and the nutritional values listed.
how do bananas prevent strokes???
ReplyDeleteLooks good but the points are off as Charlotte says, according to the new Pointsplus system. It should be 1 point, no points for bananas.
