Air Fryer Cajun Shrimp and Vegetables

This is the best Cajun shrimp recipe! It’s colorful and packed with flavor. The best part is it takes less than thirty minutes to make! I was inspired to create this recipe by these Cajun Shrimp Foil Packets, which are so popular on my blog. You can see more air fryer recipes by clicking on the AF icon.

This fast and easy Air Fryer Cajun Shrimp recipe is a meal-in-one, made with shrimp, sausage, and lots of colorful vegetables such as zucchini, yellow squash and bell peppers.

I like to add lots of color to my food, after all we eat with our eyes! So I went with zucchini, yellow squash, and red bell peppers here, but any stir fry vegetables can be used here. Try this with eggplant, broccoli florets, etc.

And if you haven’t ordered the Skinnytaste Air Fryer Cookbook, it’s filled with 75 healthy recipes for any air fryer including onion rings, egg rolls, churros, and much more!

If you don’t have an air fryer, you can cook this in a large skillet. To do so, I would cook it in two batches on high heat for 5 to 8 minutes per batch.

Tip: Buy shrimp still frozen and defrost as needed. Most shrimp arrives at stores frozen so you may as well buy it frozen and defrost it as needed so it as fresh as possible. To defrost shrimp, thaw overnight in the refrigerator.

We LOVE this recipe and my bf who had no interest in chicken sausage requests it frequently. Quick and tasty. He eats on rice and I eat as is and it is perfect every time. We usually add either mushrooms or broccoli and be careful to not over add the seasoning. Stick to 1 tablespoon or a heaping tablespoon if adding more veggies as it becomes overpowering.

  2. This is one of my very fave recipes! So easy and so delicious 😋
Thank you so much for sharing 😁

  3. Loved this! Super flavourful and easy for a weeknight meal. I served with rice and sweet potatoes on the side for some extra carbs. I have a Ninja Crispi and had to increase the cook time (I cooked it for probably double the time), but I also didn’t do separate batches so that probably explains why it took longer. I’d definitely make this again – it’d be awesome for meal prep 🙂

  4. We make this multiple times a month and have it with rice! I love that it’s relatively quick and easy to make besides chopping the veggies and is both healthy and delicious! I like to make it for meal prep during the week and look forward to to my lunches 😋

  5. So good, thank you — just what I was looking for! Summer squash/zucchini are two of my favorite vegetables, so your recipe caught my eye. I used my new air fryer — Typhur Dome 2 — so could toss everything in it despite the large quantity — I used a little more than in the recipe. Next time I’m going to try it with some cut up baby potatoes since they’re my husband’s fave. I’ll just start them a little before the rest of the fast-cooking vegetables I guess.

  6. My husband requests this weekly. I try to get him to agree to twice monthly. But….sometimes I give in because I’m from New Orleans and I gave this 5 stars!!!! It is delicious and definitely addictive! SO easy to make in my Ninja Foodi Smart XL! No need to hesitate on making this. It’s a winner.

Fabulous recipe! I now prep this at home- take my small air fryer to work and share with my coworkers! Everyone loves it!

  8. This is so good! My whole family enjoyed it, including my two children. We out it over rice but I could do without.

  9. Rediscovered this recipe tonight – added extra veggies and chicken as I’m bulking up on protein right now. Such an easy and delicious dinner fix!

  10. This is so good! Super easy and HUGE on flavor. I introduced it to my boyfriend and some coworkers and it has become a regular meal in all of our homes.

  11. This is so easy, so delicious, and feels pretty healthy if slightly salty. I like to meal prep 4 portions, my husband adds steamed rice to his and I eat as is! Thanks!

  12. I make this so frequently! So simple! Sometimes I use more peppers and sometimes more zucchini depending what I have on hand. Have even made with adding some mushrooms or broccoli as it is so versatile! I use chicken sausage I buy and freeze from Costco and this meal is always perfect! Even my bf loves it, though he eats his on rice. Thank you so much for a quick easy and healthy recipe!

  13. Found this recipe online & since I had all the ingredients I decided to give it a try. Omg it was so good. Making it again and freeze for hot days when I don’t want to cook. Thanks for sharing

  14. I don’t leave reviews very often on recipes, but this is SO good! Making it for my 2nd time now. I love your recipes and this one is a staple for me!

  15. I made this tonight and it was fabulous! I did it in a skillet instead of the air fryer because I’m still figuring it out. Thank you!

  16. Made this for a second time tonight — so good, so easy, so low point! Really flavorful. ***A definite recommend.***

  17. I’ve made this twice now and it was AH-mazing! I’m calling this an air fryer dump dinner, which is my new favorite category of cooking. Slice, season, dump and eat. Super easy, flavorful and healthy, thank you so much!

Super easy and super flavorful for quick , easy and healthy weeknight or any night meal will definitely make again

  19. A delicious and hearty gluten free meal! I call it a Sheet Pan Cajun Shrimp Dinner since I roasted everything in the oven on parchment paper, at 400F for about 20-25 minutes or until the veggies were tender and the shrimp were cooked through. I also added more creole seasoning for an extra kick.

This is the second time making the Air Fryer Cajun Shrimp Dinner, easy to put together, I use Magic Seasoning Salt from chef Paul Prudhomme’s New Orleans Blend, it’s wonderful, just the right amount of spice!!! Love all the colorful veggies and the Andouille sausage and shrimp cook up perfectly every time, no leftovers (darn).

  21. This came together quickly. I did use old bay seasoning as I ran out of Creole at the last minute. I can’t wait to try it with the correct seasoning. I used veggies from the garden so was a nice light summer meal.

  22. I love this recipe. It’s so simple.
I do cut back on the seasoning since my husband doesn’t like heat.

  23. This was very yummy and easy. But I think next time I might cook the veggies and kielbasa in one batch (for longer) and the shrimp in the other so that the veggies get a little more cooked without overcooking the shrimp.

  24. I made this in my ninja pro XL air oven and it was great. Had to add a few minutes to cook time but other than that it was delicious.

Love this recipe!!! It is a family fav!! I add extra veggies and a sliced onion and serve over Jasmine rice. The next night I serve with tortillas and we make wraps with the leftovers, a little shredded cheese and rice. So easy and Delicious!!!

Oh my goodness this is soooooo good. Going to my go to recipe. Also Sharing with friends

  27. This dish is very flavorful and yummy. I made it as directed and would not change a thing (and I always change something). Leftovers were still excellent 2 days later. Served with cilantro rice – it was a huge hit in my house. Would HIGHLY recommend.

My family LOVES this dinner!! I throw in extra vegetables along with the zucchini and summer squash when I have them including, broccoli, snap peas, carrots, tri-colored peppers and Vidalia  onions with the shrimp and kielbasa. Serve over jasmine rice. I make a double batch and serve in tortillas for dinner the next night. A family favorite.. delicious, easy and pretty healthy!

  29. I added yellow onion & tomatoes with rice on the side! This recipe is so quick, easy, and super yummy! I thought it may be dry without any sauce, but the juices add some liquid and extra flavor. Will definitely make again!

  30. Hi!

If I were to make this in the oven, how long would
I bake it for? 400F for 16 min?

    Thanks!

  31. Just made this…. We served it on a brown rice and quinoa blend to break up all the spice, and it was very good! I can see how some people felt it was dry though. So we plan to make it again and serve it on fettuccine Alfredo. I’m excited to try that! Thanks for doing what you do.  🙂

I’ve made your Creole Shrimp previously for Mardi Gras, but I got myself an Air Fryer for Christmas so I decided to try this recipe this year. Thank you for including weights in the recipe because putting ounces made it easier for me to make a single portion. I reduced the cooking time for a single serving. I think you should add Mardi Gras to the holiday section of your site..

This was very yummy and so easy to make. My mom and I made it 2 nights in a row. I shared this recipe with friends and family and now they are making it. I added a chopped red onion as well.

Could you make in this in the Instant Vortex rotating basket? If so, do you need to adjust temp or time?

    Sarah DeYoung

I’m wondering if the shrimp are raw or cooked when you start the recipe? In the video the shrimp look grey which makes me think they should be raw but it doesn’t specific in the recipe 🤔. Clarification on this is appreciated!

    1. Hey Sarah, you can buy frozen, but they should be thawed (raw) before putting them in the air fryer. It’s a delicious recipe; I’ve made it several times!

      1. Sorry that’s not quite the answer. Thawed does not mean raw. You can buy shrimp in a number of ways. Raw means it isn’t cooked; you can buy raw shrimp  either frozen or thawed. Or you can buy cooked shrimp, again either thawed or frozen.

You should buy raw, frozen shrimp on this recipe and defrost just before you want to eat it. Since the shrimp needs to be cooked in the air fryer, you don’t want it to be pre-cooked before going in. That will cause it to be tough and chewy since it will be over-cooked.

This was delicious. No need to add the salt if you use Tony’s. We used poblano instead of the red bell pepper and also added a jalapeño to up the spiciness. We also sliced some sweet onion and put this in the air fryer with the rest of it. This was such an easy and quick weeknight dinner. We will be making this one again for sure!

  37. I just made this for dinner tonight and it was delicious; my husband loved it! I made my own creole seasoning from a recipe online and didn’t use quite enough in the first batch, a little concerned that it might be too spiced. Well it wasn’t so I added a little more to the second batch. I think I read in the reviews that someone added red onion so I did that as well. Will DEFINITELY make it again and grill some corn to go with it.

  38. This is amazing!  I do it exactly as written and it comes out perfect every time. Thanks so much for your recipes Gina!

  39. I made half the recipe as only my husband and myself. Halved all the ingredients with no alterations. Easy to make and very flavorful. We enjoyed it very much and will certainly make again. Thank you for the recipe.

Both the serving size, 1 1/3 cup, and the number of servings, 4, are listed on the recipe.

  41. So easy, and so delicious!  I didn’t add the Kosher salt…the Penzey’s Cajun seasoning had plenty of salt.  We’ll definitely make this again.

  42. I added onions, and put in 1.5 times the spice.  Flavor was good, but I thought it was a little dry.

  43. Very easy and really good. We had rice with it. The only thing I did not like is that it was very salty. I will omit the salt and try to find low sodium creole seasoning.

This looks delicious! I love air fryer recipes that deliver a complete meal in one dish. Adding rice as a side would round this out perfectly! Looking forward to giving this a try!

  46. I have an XL air fryer and I do this for 15 minutes for everything except the shrimp. I add those at the 6 minute mark and every 3 minutes I open it up and stir everything. Comes out great every time

This recipe was fantastic! Everyone loved it and we will be making this again. I didn’t notice the andouille sausage option until I brought up the recipe to cook. We will be using that the next time for sure.

  48. This recipe is DELICIOUS!!!!  I added a red onion to the mix.  We have trouble finding chicken Italian sausages here in Quebec, Canada so I was lucky to find some yesterday. They were 5 points for 2 sausages – 150 grams / 5.2 ounces.  So that brought my total blue WW points to 13 = 3 points per serving – Ye!!! (5 points for the sausages and 8 points for the olive oil).  I will definitely make this again!!! Thanks Gina!

  49. Love this recipe! Made it for the first time tonight and was so happy with how fast and easy it came together – perfect weeknight meal. I made it exactly as the recipe and hubby and I both very much enjoyed it!

I have made this recipe in the air fryer and it is excellent. I had a mishap with my air fryer (dropped it) but wanted to make is recipe so I cooked it in the oven.  It was good but I would definately suggest making this in the air fryer!  Totally different. In the oven it kind of steams and is not the same texture. Going to get a new air fryer!

I love this recipe and share it with everyone.  It’s so easy to tweak!  I didn’t have red pepper so I used carrots.  I didn’t have kielbasa so I doubled the shrimp!!

  52. Made this tonight. Had less shrimp than the recipe called for. Added a little more sausage. Also added half of a red onion sliced. Great recipe. Still learning to use my air fryer!! We will try this recipe again!!

  53. Delicious and easy to make — full of flavor. Everyone at our house enjoyed this and my husband went back for seconds.

  54. This recipe is AMAZING!  It not only is delicious and healthy, but it is so quick and easy!  I love that from prep to table, it really only takes 30 minutes!

  55. Fabulous and fast! I made this last night and I will def make it again. I used only yellow squash for the veggies, that is what I had on hand. Also my shrimp were a little smaller and were cooked in 5 minutes, so I was glad that I checked it. My sausage was kielbasa. Absolutely delicious! Thank you for the recipe!!

  56. This recipe is fantastic!  It not only took me less than 30 minutes from prep to table, but it was delicious!

Do you have any suggestions for subbing out the chicken sausage for less processed meat?

This was exactly what I needed this week. I’m finding it difficult to get motivated to cook and this was so easy with almost no clean-up. I’m already looking forward to eating it for lunch tomorrow.

  58. This is so delicious and easy! I did the skillet method. I started the veggies, then three minutes later added the shrimp, then Cooke everything together for 5 more minutes. This is a keeper!

This was the first meal that I prepared in my air fryer. The instructions were easy to follow and the meal came out just as reflected. It was delicious. I have recommended this to several friends.

  60. This is a house favorite. Unbelievably good, simple  recipe and fast. Thanks for all of your efforts in creating and collecting these amazing recipes!

  61. I did this in my Cuisinart AF at 350 for 9 minutes (tossed twice) and it was perfect. Cajun seasoning from Penzey’s, good flavor but nothing to bowl you over heat wise. Made for a fantastically quick and tasty meal for the four of us!

  62. Made tonight in my cuisinart toster style fryer, kept temp the same and the time only slight less. I was keeping an eye on it and about 3 minutes per side was a little better. Definitely do in batches if you have this fryer! I did 3 batches still a very easy recipe. As a side I made a light creamy linguine. This dish was heavenly. Highly recommend!

  63. I want to try this with chicken because I’m not a fan of shrimp. Should I cook it the same amount of time?

  64. I’ve made this a few times and it always turns out delicious. I’ve mixed up the veggies based on what I had–poblano peppers, banana peppers, mushrooms, onions. It takes about 10 minutes in my air fryer, but keep an eye on your shrimp and take it out as soon as the shrimp are done.

  65. My family loves this. I do the sausage and veggies for 9 minutes and I add the shrimp at 6 minutes. That way the shrimp doesn’t get overcooked.

I also recommend red beans and rice with this. The zatarain box is pretty tasty. And for seasoning I like Punch Daddy.

Wow. I added asparagus but everything else is per the recipe. It’s probably my new favorite meal!

  67. Made tonight in Ninja Foodi and was great. I did half the recipe and all fit into airfryer basket. I added some chopped red onion and left out the salt because i used New Orleans Joes Hot cajun seasoning. Definitely make again.

  68. Delicious and easy to make. Used my favorite Emerill’s Creole seasoning. May add a little onion next time. Will certainly be one of my favorites and healthy too. Can’t wait to make again!

  69. Absolutely delicious!!! I used zucchini, green beans, red and orange peppers, onion chunks. All the vegetables were crispy and so fresh and tasty! The Cajun seasoning, shrimp and chicken chorizo was sooooo good. My husband loved it. Served it with rice. This is a keeper!

I love this dish. I make it often. Easy and tasty makes a large amount. I use out beautiful fresh Florida gulf shrimp. I serve it over riced cauliflower. It’s always a hit!

  71. Making this tonight for a family dinner…doubling this recipe. Not sure about cajun seasoning. Is Old Bay cajun seasoning? If not…will it work?

  72. Wow, from start to finish (without the 10 minutes I spent dealing with a mandolin accident from not wearing my cut resistant gloves – oy) it was 15 minutes to have an amazing dinner on the table. So good.

  73. Excellent recipe.  Easy to prepare and delicious.  I served it over rice, but it didn’t really need it.

  74. I make this at least 3 times a month. It’s delicious!!
The first time I cooked it on the stovetop and the veggies were cooked down and mushy. It also made a “gravy”. It would have been good over rice or cauliflower rice.
The other times I cooked as directed and veggies stayed crispier. I only get 3 one and a half-cup servings.
    Thanks for another great recipe

  75. Wow! I made this tonight and it had so much flavor and was SO quick and easy. I used Whole Foods jambalaya seasoning and used a bit more than the recipe called for so everything was nicely coated. Great flavor with just the right amount of kick. This recipe is going to be in heavy rotation for weeknight dinners!

  76. Omg. So quick, easy and delish. I had a vet appt after work and we were all so hungry by the time I got home. I had it on the table in no time!  This will be a weeknight go too. I love all your recipes I’ve tried. Thank you!!

I love this recipe. It is so simple and very tasty. Knowing I was going to arrive home late, I cut the veggies and the sausage, made my own creole seasoning the day before. Then when I got home, I added the oil and seasoning and viola, dinner in 8 minutes. Love it!

  78. This is more of a question. Can you use precooked frozen shrimp thawed or should they be raw? Also if using frozen veggies should they be thawed first?

    1. Avatar photo
      Janet Carmichael

The cooked shrimp would then be overcooked so use raw. Yes, I would thaw but fresh veggies will be firmer and tastier.

  79. I made this tonight.  Very quick and easy to make. It was absolutely delicious!!!  Looking forward to making it again!!  Thanks for such a wonderful recipe Gina!!!

  80. I used Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning.   Man it was spicy!    Tasted wonderful but I might not use as much seasoning next time.

I generally stay away from shrimp recipes because they usually require so much time but this was super easy and super fast to make. I used a bag of Trader Joe’s Stir Fry Veggies, I added chopped onion and bell pepper, a bag of Trader Joes large cooked shrimp, Members Mark Roasted Garlic Chicken Sausage and a diced potato. I will definitely add this to our meal rotation as it was hubby approved.

  82. My toddler loooves shrimp and these vegetables, but can’t handle the kick of cajun. Are there any other spices that you would recommend that would go well with the shrimp and zucchini in the air fryer??

  83. I love this recipe. The first time I made it I forgot to start the rice before it was done than had to check myself so I didn’t eat the whole bowl before I could put it over the rice. So quick and simple to make. I love throwing it together after I get home from the gym at night. It basically ensures I eat well before 8:00.

    1. I tried this today and the wife really loves it she went for seconds thanks alot real quick and very delicious.

  84. I’m new too WW on 💙. Someone help me!  Shrimp is zero, veggies are zero and if you use the chicken sausage is it not zero? Where are all the points coming from?

    1. Points for the olive oil, maybe the seasoning depending on the blend, and the chicken sausage. Chicken breast is zero, chicken sausage is not.

  85. My first time using the air fryer, and this was perfect.  Great, flavorful recipe and not remotely heavy. A winner!

  86. This was so delicious. We actually made it and threw it in a bowl and just picked at it. I loaded up on veggies while my boyfriend at a bunch of sausage and we both had shrimp. So fast and easy!!

  87. I made. this last week and used the Trader Joe’s chicken apple sausage and it was AHHHMAAAAZING! Love this recipe and the air fryer! 🙂

  88. I made this last night and was thrilled! It really took very little time to prep and the fact that I have the SkinnyTaste by Vremi Air Fryer, I was able to cook the entire meal in one batch! It was not only delicious, it was also very pretty! Will definitely make again!

  89. This was super delicious.  I served with seasoned cauliflower rice. This has become a staple in our house. Works great as a sheet pan meal as well.

I would love to make this for my Dad but he does not like anything too spicy, I have kielbasa that I could use but do you think the Cajun seasoning would be too spicy? Do you suggest something else that I could season with not as spicy?

    1. Ive made this very often, just sauteed instead of air fried. I just got an air fryer but my food doesnt look like yours. The shrimp are pink and don’t have that beautiful reddish sear on them. Is there something i am doing wrong?

  95. If I wanted to make this without the sausage would that work? Would I still follow the directions as-is? Thanks!

  96. Gina, do you have a brand of Cajun seasoning that you prefer?? I’ve struggled with some Cajun inspired recipes in the past bc the spice level of different seasonings can be so different!

  101. This has my boyfriend convinced that I know how to cook. It’s probably our new favorite meal! I added asparagus, my favorite veggie, and cooked it on the stove because we haven’t gotten an air fryer yet. It still turned out perfectly.

Thank you for this recipe!! Working nights has wreaked havoc on my eating, and Skinnytaste is helping me get it back under control with healthy meals that sustain me!! The best!!

This was very good and I feel full but it was light to my stomach.  I don’t own an air fryer so I had to fry shrimp, sausage and veggies separately then I tossed them together.

  106. Do you need to thaw the shrimp before cooking or put them in frozen?
We do not have an air fryer of our own, but my in-laws do and I am excited to see how this tastes.

  107. This is SO delicious! Cooking shrimp in the air fryer is the only way I’ll cook them from now on – they stay so succulent! I added my sausage during the last 4 minutes of each batch since I found it overcooked last time, but this recipe is a winner no matter what. Thanks, Gina!

  108. I’m using my Vremi Skinnytatse for the first time right now for this recipe…..is this basket considered a large one? Can I put all the ingredient in one batch?

  109. What if I could only find uncooked andouille sausage? Should I cook it on the stove first, or will it cook in the air fryer with everything else?

  110. This is delicious. I made it exactly as instructed, but I baked it in the oven. I don’t have an air fryer, LOL!
400 degrees for about 10 mins. I will definitely make this again.

  111. Winner! Winner! Shrimp & sausage dinner! My son had his g/f over for dinner. Served this over creamy jalapeno cheddar grits. Tomato garlic mussels as an appetizer. Very happy tummies!

  112. I made this on the stovetop tonight, and it was mostly well-received! My 3yo decided that she doesn’t like squash or zucchini, but she loved the red pepper, shrimp, and sausage! I might add green beans next time, since she usually eats those. It was incredibly easy to put together. Thanks!

  113. Was very easy and very tasty. No air fryer here but did it in the convection oven, same time and temp. Thanks.

  114. I have never been able to eat shrimp. However, with this recipe, I could ☺️ It’s so simple, yet very delicious. My family and I use your meal plan recipes weekly. They have truly broadened my cooking abilities and saved us money!

  115. I just made this for the 1st time in my lovely new Vremi Skinnytaste airfyer and I love it!! So easy to make. Thank you once again for sharing such flavorful recipes.

You can sub anything you want.  I wouldn’t use really fat asparagus though as it will take longer to cook.  The average size spear should work great.

  116. Super Duper! Landed a free air fryer and then the deliciousness began. Super easy and absolutely super tasting. My 89 yr old mom was thrilled with it as well.

  117. Loved this recipe. So easy and delicious! I didn’t have Cajun so I used paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and oregano and it turned out great.

    1. mine has racks too but I went to the dollar tree and found these little square pans. they fit perfectly in my air fryer. I use them everyday to cook different dishes. I hope this helps.

  118. Made this for dinner tonight and it was great!  We used emeril’s creole seasoning recipe and it made this dish shine!  Thanks for another great dinner Gina!

  119. Loved the recipe, I added onions and seasoned everything with salt, pepper and garlic powder as well (on top of the Cajun shrimp).  Came out fantastic!

  120. Thank you for this recipe!  My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it.  So easy and incredibly delicious.  Whenever I make one of your recipes, it always becomes a family favourite!  I didn’t have any Cajun spice, so I did 1/2 tbsp each of paprika & chill powder with 1/4 tbsp of garlic powder, worked like a charm … but I’ll grab some Cajun powder on my next trip to the grocery store 🙂

  121. I’m making this tonight. I used the WW calculator to add the points. It’s coming up 7 freestyle points. What am I doing wrong?

    1. Hi Lynn. The only accurate way to determine any recipe’s SmartPoints® value is to plug the ingredients into the recipe builder on the Weight Watchers website (Click on “My Foods,” select “Recipe,” and click “Create a recipe.”) which does not count fruits and vegetables in recipes in the calculations as they are now 0 points.

The SmartPoints® calculator isn’t meant for recipes and will often give you the wrong points (usually higher) because it’s counting the fruits and vegetables. So if you see a recipe with a SmartPoints® value that’s different from what the calculator tells you, now you know why.

    1. You can cook this in a large skillet. To do so, I would cook it in two batches on high heat for 5 to 8 minutes per batch.

  122. Made this and it was delicious.

My husband’s only comment was that he wished it had cauliflower in it (the one vegetable he likes). I’ll try that next time, although I imagine ill need to at least partially pre cook the cauliflower.

This recipe is also Noom diet friendly. With the exception of the oil, everything is a green or yellow food.

  123. This was absolutely delicious! I added mushrooms and looking forward to trying it with different veggies.

That was so good! And so easy to put together. Definitely a keeper. (Secretly hoping my family grabs dinner on the way home so there’s more here for me!)

  125. What would the time/temp be if I was doing this in a toaster oven-style air fryer? Would it be the same?

  126. Most of you can relate. We’ve been traveling almost constantly for the last three weeks and reality set in when we met up with the scale this morning (not pretty). This is our first dinner back counting points and it so hits the spot – spicy, nice texture, good amounts of protein and veggies. Thanks as always, Gina!

  127. We made this last night & it was so good! My kids don’t usually eat veggies like this, but my 9 year old decided the yellow squash was pretty good. I served with another side of green beans so the kids had veggies to go with it.

  128. Is there a milder seasoning you would recommend for those who have kids that won’t eat spicy foods?

  129. This was absolutely delicious!!! I had to cook it in 3 batches but oh my goodness the flavors and everything were perfect. Can’t wait to make it again!

I buy at a local market- similar to a farmers market- so they aren’t cooked through. Would you recommend cooking them through in the skillet and then putting them in the air fryer since your directions say the sausage should be fully cooked?

    Thanks!

  131. How many servings does this make? I’m trying to check points using different types of sausage. Thanks

I made this exactly as written, using Penzey’s Cajun seasoning. It was delicious!  It is spicy, which my husband and I like.

  133. I accidentally bought cooked shrimp instead of raw. Will they be tough if I cook them the full 8 minutes? Should I add them in at the end?

  134. I don’t have an air fryer and but used the copper crisper racks that I use for oven fried chicken etc. They worked beautifully for this recipe. I put them in a 400 degree oven for 15-20 minutes until the vegetables were tender and the shrimp was nice and pink.. So very, very good.

My husband is allergic to anything that lives in water so I made another batch without shrimp and added a little more Andouille sausage. He loved it!

Thanks for such a wonderful recipe.

This was quite good! My wife found it salty, but I found it perfect! It was our first time using the air fryer my parents gave us last Christmas. It worked well, but I added some time since we have a larger fryer and put it all in at once. Otherwise, good recipe. I’m sure this will go into the rotation.

  136. Wonderful, Really like the zucchini and squash with this. I used a bit more sausage, ( Bilinski Cilantro lime chicken sausage) and less shrimp. I don’t have an air fryer yet so did in the skillet and it was wonderful. Used Penzey Cajun seasoning. Didn’t need to use any oil. This was easy and great.

  137. This was SO good. I didn’t change a thing other than double the recipe. I don’t have an air fryer so I cooked it in the oven. It was a HIT for my family of 6. We didn’t have a piece left.

  138. I don’t have an air fryer yet, but I want to make this in a skillet. How long and at what temp would you suggest? Thank you!

    1. I don’t have an air fryer either.. I made this last night. Same recipe just slightly different vegetables. It was delicious and quick and easy. https://www.skinnytaste.com/cajun-shrimp-in-foil/

    2. I would make it in the oven in foil packets as opposed to on the stove. Zucchini gets mushy when cooled on the stove unless you are cooking at a very high heat.  With the foil packets you can prep ahead and then just bake. I have even frozen them uncooked and then cooked later and they are always excellent 😊

    1. Another winner. Healthy, quick and delicious. I didn’t have any cajun seasoning in my cupboard. I found a recipe for cajun seasoning on line. It was easy to make since all ingredients are cupboard staples. I used aloha peppers, for no other reason then they are beautiful, added colors of red and orange. Shrimp came out perfect. I was never able to make shrimp in the frying pan without over cooking them. I will use my air fryer for shrimp from now on. Will make again this dish again, just a much bigger batch.

Hi Gina! This will be my 1st Air Fryer attempt 🙂 If I am using your Skinnytaste Vremi Air Fryer , do I need to do this in 2 batches or will 1 work? I am very excited!
