Blueberry Peach Crisp with a spoon

Peach Blueberry Crisp

I’m a sucker for pies, crisps and cobblers. There’s something about eating a hot gooey crisp with a cold scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt cream that really does it for me!! This peach and blueberry crisp is delicious served warm out of the oven. For a Fall fruit crisp, you make also like this Cinnamon Apple Crisp.

Blueberry Peach Crisp with a skoop of ice cream

Sweet ripe summer peaches and blueberries are the perfect combination in this fruit crisp. Once baked the blueberries burst in a lovely blue shade that seeps through the crisp and some on top. And this recipe couldn’t be any easier!

The topping is crisp and not too sweet. Perfect to bring to a potluck, make for the family or to serve guests too.

Variations and Tips

  • To make this Gluten-Free swap out the flour for a gluten-free flour mix and use gluten-free oats.
  • You can use frozen fruit in place of fresh, although it may not be as sweet.
  • Make it even lighter by using less crisp topping on top.

  1. This is bar none the best crisp recipe I have made. It is not too sweet. I have used fresh and frozen blueberries and also fresh pitted cherries as alternate to blueberries. Wonderful!

  2. This was extraordinary! I only used two very ripe peaches and almost 2 cups of blueberries. As others suggest, there’s no need to do the entire topping. I would do half next time. Modifications made: used half of the honey, didn’t include lemon zest, used Kodiac protein powder instead of WW flour since I was out of WW flour. DELICIOUS. No need for yogurt or ice cream. This is my new go-to for peaches.

  3. Absolutely delicious!! I couldn’t even wait to go out for the ice cream, it was still fantastic! So quick and easy as well. My oven was occupied so I had to halve the recipe to fit in my toaster oven… but of course I didn’t halve the topping! 😉 Thank you!

  4. This was fantastic! I have used the same biscuit topped recipe for years, but thought I would give this skinnytaste one a try. This is now my go to cobbler/crisp recipe. Made it as written, no changes. We loved the topping and it was just the right amount. The filling was just perfectly sweet with the honey. Make this now!

Wonderful and easy too (I doubled the butter in the topping, though). And I made this gluten-free and sugar-free (using monkfruit brown sugar sweetener). I used an 8×8 square glass pan and checked it at 35 minutes and it was perfect.

  6. Peaches are at their peak of perfection. This recipe was great for baking on the BBQ while with ate dinner. Fresh blueberries was fun mix-it-up addition. Love this recipe!

  7. This is the one! I finally found a wonderful dessert for my grown daughter who has lots of food sensitivities including eggs and gluten which makes it hard to find a dessert she can enjoy with the rest of us. So, so good!
I subbed canned peaches in water (2) for the fresh ones because we were at the lake and I didn’t want to spend my time peeling and cutting peaches, and will do it that way again, as it was perfect.

This was very helpful as I have canned peaches, not fresh, and was nervous about the turn out. Thank you!

  8. This is such a family favorite.
I made it this time with only lightly defrosted Costco blueberries. They are so sweet that I skipped putting agave in the fruit. It also makes a great breakfast with a Greek yogurt topping.
All of your crisp recipes are so indulgent.

  9. Made this but substituted blackberries for blueberries. Was amazing. Everyone loved it. Super simple and will make it again.

  10. I made this tonight with 4 large nectarines as the peaches in the store were not very nice. This is delicious!!!! Next time I will use less topping as we found it very rich tasting!!! Great Recipe Gina!!!!

This was delicious—and so easy. I used fresh local peaches and only about 2/3 cup blueberries because that’s all I had.

  12. Awesome recipe! This turned out so well and not too sweet. I only baked it for 22 min as my peaches were very ripe.

  13. Simply delicious! My husband and I had a problem not eating the entire thing in one sitting! I used nectarines for convenience (didn’t have time to mess with peeling peaches and would use nectarines again), added a little nutmeg to the fruit mixture, and used ginger syrup instead of honey. The topping was light brown in 35 min in my oven. This crisp is tart in a perfect sort of way and a scoop of vanilla ice cream took it over the top!

  14. Absolutely amazing. When I first added the melted butter, I didn’t get clumps of the topping. So added a little more cut up pieces of cold butter and mixed it into clumps and put it on the fruit. And baked uncovered for 40 mins. So good!

  15. I made this yesterday with fresh blueberries I picked. It was absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to have more tonight!

    Thank you!

This was wonderful. Easy to make and very flavorful.  So good that none of us were successful in having just one serving. I will absolutely be making this again.

  17. This was delicious!  I only used peaches and it turned out yummy. Also i used date syrup in place of honey which added to the sweetness. Will definitely make this again

  18. This was amazing! Made the recipe as written. My family gave it rave reviews. This recipe is a keeper. Thank you!

  19. How many days can I keep this in the fridge before serving? (I have to take it to a get together on Sunday but the only time I’m going to have to make it is Friday night)

  20. I made this a few times, super delicious and light recipe. But, I add 1/2cp pecans for a pop. I also find cutting the topping mixture in 1/2 works much better (too much otherwise). And, to mix things up I am made a peach-strawberry-pecan crisp for a picnic this week with rave results!

  21. Could I use frozen peaches and blueberries? I am writing from Alaska and there are no good blueberries or peaches at the stores right now….

  22. I made this yesterday and it is so tasty! I used nectarines instead of peaches since that’s what I had and needed to be used and it worked great. Next time I would drop the amount of lemon I used as it was a bit stronger than I like, but my lemon was pretty large and juicy so half may have been too much. But this will definitely be made again!

    1. I made it with canned peaches and fresh blueberries and it was delicious! Right now, I have another batch in the oven with just canned peaches (by request of my husband).

  23. Loved this recipe– not too sweet, but sweet enough to bring out the wonderful flavor of the fruits!  Will make it again and again!

  24. I love the new feature where I can adjust the recipe for the number of servings and select whether to include instruction photos. Great idea! However, something has been broken since this was implemented. The page margins are missing and the recipe prints right to the edge of the page on the top and both sides. Actually, the left side cuts off the first letter of each sentence. Try printing and you’ll see.

  25. This was so delicious!! I peeled 5 large peaches. I used honey and regular flour. I used lemon juice. I put it in a 9 inch deep dish pie pan. It was so good!!! I love your recipes!! Thank you so much!

  26. This was SO good, I was able to somehow justify being able to eat this for breakfast (it has oats, right?).

  27. Not sure if recipe is correct. Calls for one cup peaches (about 5 peeled). However one cup was only 2 peaches. One cup of peaches and one cup of blueberries barely covered a pie dish. I went back and added more peaches. Also, instructions state to mix peaches and blackberries not blueberries.

  28. This was outstanding! I used ripe peaches and ripe blueberries, and I didn’t have the agave nectar, so I used a little less than 1/4 cup honey and used “rolled oats: old fashioned.” I went more by the “5 peaches” suggestion than by the “1 cup” and it was perfect–it must have been closer to at least 1 1/2 cups. The blueberries burst and so the deep blue seeping through the crisp and some on top was lovely. The topping was crisp and not too sweet. I’m saving this recipe to serve guests too (as well as family). My husband thoroughly enjoyed it too.

  29. What’s the best way to use frozen fruits instead? Drain them before using or use frozen – thank you for wonderful recipes. Your slow cooker pulled pork have been a hit for many years now 🙂

  30. I just put this in the oven! As other have said, it really didn’t seem like enough fruit. I did one cup of each, but it barely covered the bottom of my pie dish. I really hope it still turns out!

      1. I can’t believe it’s only 1 cup blueberries and 1 cup peaches. That’s not much fruit for all of that topping.

  31. Hi Gina, I would really love to try this recipe, but I am allergic to peaches. Is there a fruit I can sub for it or do I just double the blueberries! Thanks for your help!

  32. Hey did anyone confirm if it's one cup or one pound of peaches? I'm going to give this a shot tonight… Think I'll split the difference just to see (About 2 cups which will still be short of a pound).

Could you make a crisp with Go Lean Crunch cereal? I've had it before and can't find a recipe for it. Thanks, Jenna

  34. Ahh… I think I figured it out! It is supposed to say 1 lb. of peaches. Did that, and it is SO yummy! I love it. Thanks for the recipe!

    1. This looks fantastic! I don’t have any agave – can I just use honey? If so, it is just a 1-to-1 replacement? Thanks in advance!

  35. Hi, I am just curious if this recipe really calls for just 1 cup of peaches, which you say is about 5 peaches. I just sliced up one peach and it's almost a cup.

  36. Hi, love this and big raves at home also for your strawberry rhubarb crisp, but I can't get the topping proportions correct. Can you please include the size of the pie plate/baking containers used in the recipes – thanks, that would be a big help!

    1. This looks fantastic! I don’t have any agave – can I just use honey? If so, it is just a 1-to-1 replacement? Thanks in advance!

  37. Thanks for this recipe – I can't wait to try it! Just wondering if you used salted or unsalted butter in this? Thanks!

  38. I made this last weekend for a bbq and it was fantastic, not to mention super easy! I didn't eat it right out of the oven, but I microwaved individual slices for 10 seconds or so and served it with lowfat Breyers vanilla bean ice cream. Soooo good! Our guests ate it all up :)We also enjoyed your choc chip oatmeal cookies. I make them in triple batches (yes about 90 cookies, lol)for friends and family. Everyone loves them!

  39. You said "serve with low-fat ice cream or Fat free frozen yogurt", is that included in the 6 points plus?? Thanks! 🙂

  40. What would be the points plus values for this recipe. I want to make this for dessert for my family on sunday !

It's usually near the honey or syrup in the supermarket. You can use sugar or honey instead.

  42. I am new to your site and I have already made several of your recipes, all of which have turned out amazingly!! Your spices and assortment of ingredients are genius, thank you!! This Blueberry Peach Crisp turned out so yummy!!!

  43. I agree with Andrea! I used this recipe and everything seemed to go rather smoothly. I did not have too many frozen blueberries left so I added two table spoons of some freeze dried blueberry powder which one of my friends recomended to me for baking. It was so good I would strongly suggest it! Plus the powder is 100% Fruit, with no additives, so it just added a little blueberry kick to the recipe. Best cobbler I have ever made! My kids loved it!

  44. This was the best cobbler I have EVER had!! Thank you for this easy to make, and healthy cobbler recipe!! I made this for my husband, and lets just say there were no leftovers the next day 🙂 I can't wait to make again for my friends!

  113. I'd like to try the chocolate syrup. I have a bottle of agave at home and need a cookbook to help me learn to use it!
    chefpeg@gmail.com

  114. Yummm… so many sound good! For the grandkids, I'm going to make the Gorilla Poops, of course. But for us, I'm making the Asian Cabbage Salad. Also the Blueberry-Cranberry muffins. Looking forward to trying the Xagave sweetener!

  115. I almost bought a bottle of Agave nectar in the store yesterday but wasn't sure which brand to try!

  117. Definitely the no bake cookies. I was just craving them really bad the other day (and am now that I've thought of them again!) The pumpkin cookies sound awesome too, and I wouldn't mind trying the chocolate syrup either. I'm gonna have to get some of this stuff whether I win or not!

  118. We use agave nectar for sweetening coffee or tea and I've used it some other recipes but would love to use it even more. First recipe that came up when I clicked on the link was the Island Painkiller. We vacation in the winter in the US Virgin Islands and usually take a day trip over to the British Virgin Islands where the Painkiller was born!!! And we have some of the original tin mugs from Pusser's. Delicious! Also, can't leave this comment without telling you Gina how much I enjoy your website and recipes. I've made a lot of them and they are all wonderful. Now if this weight would come off a little more consistently………Have a great day! Janet

  119. There are so many things that look delicious. But for practicality, I think the first thing I would try is the Tangy Agave Ketchup. With a 2 and 4 year old, we use a LOT of ketchup and I'm always wishing for a healthier alternative!

  120. I am a dessert freak! I would love to try the pound cake! The cook book would be wonderful!!!

    Thanks

  123. I've often wondered about agave nectar and would love to try it! The pound cake recipe would be first on my list. My grandmother used to make it all the time and it's become one of those comfort food type recipes that I love to make!

  124. The cranberry sauce looks like it would be a nice thing to try. Would love to win as I have never tried it.

  125. Asian Cabbage & Sprout Salad with Agave Soy Ginger Dressing, and the Agave Strawberry pie sound delish! Thanks for your great site, I make a lot of the recipes you so generously share.
    THANK YOU!

  126. I think the lemon pie would be at the top of my list! This stuff sounds perfect for a low sugar kitchen!!

  127. They all sound so yummy!!! But I will have to say I would like to try the fresh strawberry agave pie. Love those strawberries!!

  128. I would certainly try this out. I would especially try the cranberry sauce and the barbecue sauce. I'm all for reducing the amount of sugar I use.

I would love to try any of these recipes! The no bakes look really good, as does the recipe for ketchup, lemon merigine pie, and pumpkin cookies! What can I say they all look amazing! Do you plan on using agave nectar more in the future! I love it! See my uses here: www.foodintolerancescook.blogspot.com
and my email address is foodintolerancescook@gmail.com

  134. Wow, I've heard of agave nectar but I had no idea that it was so versatile. I would love to try so many of the recipes — the pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, the carrot cake, the no-bake cookies!! (staple of my childhood, never thought I'd eat again!) — and I love the idea of making chocolate syrup so that my kids can have chocolate milk without high fructose corn syrup!

  135. I would LOVE the classic pound cake with agave or the fresh strawberry agave pie. Eating healthy for me means I have to avoid my favorite desserts (or else I would eat too much). These sound awesome! kimberly.kilpatrick@gmail.com

  136. Oooh the No Bake Cookies recipe sounds amazing. My mom made them for me when I was little but these days they are just sooo bad for me!

  137. I would totally love to try the Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Whole Grain Agave Cookies! I love pumpkin and am trying to get more whole grains in my life.

I have never heard of Agave. I don't think they sell that around here. I'm all about trying natural sweeteners. I detest the artificial stuff. Thanks! ellie_may12 at hotmail dot com

I like the Pound Cake recipe. I love Pound Cake, but because of all the sugar and fat, I've been avoiding it.

  139. I would LOVE to try this stuff!!! I want to make the No Bake Cookies made with Agave. My son and I were just talking about making no bakes the other day…this would be the perfect reason to make them!

  140. Ooh, pick me! Pick me! I'd love to try several of those recipes – the pound cake, the ketchup and the barbecue sauce for sure. In fact, I don't think I can wait until I win – I'd better go buy some!

Love your site – I follow you on Google Reader so I don't miss any updates!

  141. I just had a baby boy three moths ago and just like any other new mother I am trying to loose all this baby weight. I've joined weight watchers and eating healthy. I love my sweets (who doesn't? but do not want to consume sugar-free products. Agave is a great alternative. I would love to try the island painkiller especially when the day seems like it will never end. Also, I would like to try the tangy agava ketchup. We also have a three year old daughter and are trying not to feed her things with high fructose corn syrup. I think this ketchup may be a great alternative. Thank you. elyse_oconnor@yahoo.com

  142. The Chocolate Agave Syrup sounds yummy. I've always said that Agave Nectar is the nectar of the gods. It is THAT good.

  143. I'd love to incorporate agave into my cooking more! Right now I just use it to sweeten my oatmeal or yogurt, but I've never cooked with it.

I'd be all over that Kansas City BBQ Sauce. Love me some BBQ. Thanks for the give away!

  144. That blueberry peach crisp looks yummy! I can't wait to try it!

And I'd love to try the pound cake or the strawberry jam!!!

  148. I wouldn't mind winning this at all. I love agave nectar and a cookbook with a conversion chart would be great.

The strawberry jam looks great, though I like to make mine in big batches and can it.
