These easy, low-carb Buffalo Shrimp Lettuce Wraps are spicy, light and delicious topped with celery and blue cheese or ranch dressing. Ready in under 15 minutes!

Buffalo Shrimp Lettuce Wraps
I love lettuce wraps, they are my go-to when I want to eat low-carb. In fact, I have so many lettuce wrap recipes here on my site, everything from Buffalo Chicken Lettuce Wraps, Taco Lettuce Wraps to BLT Lettuce Wraps just to name a few.
These spicy shrimp lettuce wraps are keto, low-carb and gluten-free. An idea I had after a craving for Buffalo Shrimp. You eat them with your hands, so they’re a bit messy. If you prefer to turn this into a salad, simply serve the shrimp over chopped romaine.
I used butter lettuce for these lettuce wraps, but Romaine or Iceberg lettuce works great too. These are great for lunch or a light dinner, you don’t need any fancy equipment, just a skillet. The best part, this whole shrimp dish takes less than 10 minutes to make.

Underwhelmed. I was really excited about this meal but it really wasn’t that great. The lettuce wasn’t holding the mixture very well. Taste was ok but not great.
These were really good. Not hard to make either.
These were spot on!! It’s hot and muggy here in Chicago this time of year and this was perfect for dinner! My husband raved about them, we both had them as wraps. My teenager is anti-lettuce so I warmed a few tortillas for her. It’s a big win here for the Mom and her family!! Thanks, Gina! You never disappoint!
This recipe is so ridiculously hot that I had to rescue the shrimp and toss the whole mess, only partially eaten. There is also absolutely no good reason to chop large shrimp into small pieces. Use smaller cheaper shrimp if you want to do that. This recipe might have been fine if there had been no addition of Franks Hot Sauce (maybe 1 teaspoon instead of 1/3 cup). But, I guess we’ll never know. 1 star is the least I can rate. Zero would be better. I don’t understand all the 5-star ratings. Spare your taste buds and move on!!
Usually when a recipe is titled “Buffalo” and has the words “spicy” in the heading, you can expect it to be hot, James. And no one forced you to chop your shrimp into small pieces 🙂
I thought it was simple and delicious. Thanks, as always, Gina!
Is it possible you bought the Frank’s hot sauce in the small bottle instead of Frank’s buffalo wing sauce? I think the instructions could have been clearer. Definitely if you use 1/3c of cayenne hot sauce it will be too hot!
Super easy to make! Super yummy! Definitely going to be making again!
I thought these were good. I made them with the skinny taste blue cheese dressing. But they were hard to hold and messy to eat in a lettuce wrap. I may use a corn tortilla next time. Today I’m going to use my extra blue cheese dressing and make Gina’s buffalo blue cheese turkey burgers. Yum!
Where does the celery come in? Is it cooked with shrimp or added at the end with red onion and chives?
Added with red onion.
I made this today. It was amazing. The flavors and the homemade blue cheese dressing is amazing
Quick, easy and delicious! I bought the ingredients knowing I had hot sauce and found I only had the chipotle flavor. It worked just fine. A little messy, but my husband even loved them.
These were delicious and easy!! Just chop up your veggies, saute your shrimp, and drizzle some ranch. So good. I will definitely make a double batch though next time. 1 lb of shrimp doesn’t go far enough for my family.
YUM! Light, fresh and perfect for summer or any time of the year!
Hi Gina,,
So my girlfriends and I love your recipes. Whenever we get together we always end up taking “skinny taste”. On Tuesday July 30th we are having a “skinny taste” pool party in which we each bring our favorite recipe. I’m hosting the party at my house in Babylon. I know this sounds weird but I would love to surprise my friends with a guest appearance by you!! We are just a bunch Long Island moms in our mid 40’s. I completely understand if you don’t want to make friends with strangers, but we are a pretty funny bunch and I can guarantee you will have fun!! Feel free to contact me at [email protected]
Sincerely,
Jennifer Kounadis
So kind of you to invite me, perhaps we can meet when I move out there.
Can you use frozen shrimp? If so, how to thaw out beforehand?
I use frozen because of where I live. My advice is after thawing and peeling, blot them dry really well. I have cotton kitchen towels that I wrap them in while I’m prepping everything else.
So easy! These wraps had just the right amount of spicy, definitely not too hot for wimpy people like me. Totally spaced serving this with Ranch and they still were delicious. The only deviation for me was I used a few green onions instead of red. This one’s a keeper!
I made this and found that it’s easier to chop up the lettuce and serve the shrimp on top with the celery and onion and blue cheese dressing.
Great flavor super easy to throw together!
Is a serving 3 or 4?
4
Really enjoyed this. I ate mine as a salad (easier than lettuce wraps). I’m not a spicy food fan so I was pleased that the lite ranch cut the intensity of the hot sauce. Husband liked it; had his on a tortilla. Keeper!
Could I cook these in the air fryer?
Sure
Buffalo sauce or Frank’s red hot sauce? Ingredients list Frank’s hot sauce yet instructions say buffalo sauce.
Franks Hot Sauce.
Franks hot sauce and buffalo sauce are the same thing….”Buffalo” sauce is just a hot sauce with butter and a zing of vinegar. Using Franks hot sauce just takes the work out of combining those ingredients yourself.
If you were making this for dinner, what kind of side dish would you add?
Put it over a salad instead of of just lettuce wraps, or make a fruit salad on the side?
Is it 1/4 cup each wrap or split between the 3 wraps (1 serving)?
If your on a low carb diet mashed cauliflower would be a good option. If your not on a low carb diet sweet potato fries, regular mashed potates or steamed jasmine rice would be some delicious options.
