A heavenly mixed berry trifle made with summer fresh blueberries, strawberries, white chocolate pudding, angle foods cake and cream. A beautiful guiltless dessert that would make your July 4th table proud.
I gave some of this to my dessert-loving brother and he raved about it and told me to make sure I let you all know how fabulous this is. He's right, this exceeded my expectations and I probably ate more than I should have, oops!
Using store bought angel foods cake makes this quick and easy to prepare and no need to heat up the kitchen, but you can use a box mix or make it from scratch if you prefer, whatever you decide this will still be fabulous!

Calories: 169.1 • Fat: 0.4 g • Protein: 2.5 g • Carb: 38 g • Fiber: 3.0 g • Sugar: 16.5 g
Sodium: 102.8 mg
Ingredients:
- 10 oz angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes*
- 2 pints strawberries, sliced
- 2 pints blueberries
For the cream filling:
- 6 tbsp fat-free sweetened condensed milk (I used Borden Eagle)
- 1 1/2 cups cold water
- 1 package sugar-free white chocolate instant pudding mix
- 12 oz fat-free frozen whipped topping, thawed
Directions:
Whisk the condensed milk and water in a bowl. Whisk in the pudding mix for 2 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes or until soft-set; fold in the whipped topping.
Arrange half of the cake in the bottom of a 14-cup trifle dish. Sprinkle evenly with a layer of blueberries. Spread half of the cream mixture over the blueberries and gently spread (I piped it using a plastic bag and cut the corner off). Top with a layer of strawberries. Layer the remaining cake cubes on top of the strawberries, then add more blueberries and top with the remaining cream mixture. Finish with the remaining strawberries and blueberries, arranging them in a pretty pattern. Cover and refrigerate at least one 1 hour.
*I only used 10 oz of a 16 oz cake.

This looks amazing. But, I am curious why it looks so white if there is there is chocolate pudding in the filling? Maybe it is just my computer. I will try this this summer!
ReplyDeleteIt's because she used white shocolate pudding, looks delicious!!
ReplyDeleteSure looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat would the points be for regualr pudding? I do not like feeding my daughter sugar free stuff. Thanks it looks wonderful and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your website!
ReplyDeleteRaquel, it's white chocolate pudding! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how the points change with regular pudding, I would guess it may add a point.
this looks amazing! might be a silly question, but i dont even know what a trifle dish is let along own one...what could this be made in instead?
ReplyDeleteWhere do you find the fat free condensed milk?
ReplyDeletedoes it even exist?
That is just GORGEOUS, Gina!
ReplyDeleteGina, I want to make this but will you come over and expertly slice my strawberries? You make it look effortless when I know that it's not :)
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful! Is the fat-free condensed milk also known as fat-free evaporated milk? Or are you referencing sweetened condensed milk?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the clarification!
Will definitely be making this, I love blueberries, and I LOVE making trifles :)!
ReplyDeleteYum! What a beautiful dessert!
ReplyDeleteThis looks scrumptious! I have also fallen head over heels for your blog... hope to try a lot of these recipes! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Great recipe.
ReplyDeleteOh...my...gosh that looks TO DIE FOR!!!!! I tried your black bean salad recipe and LOVED it!!!!!!! I cant wait to try this one!
ReplyDeleteGREAT, really yummy
ReplyDeleteThat is the prettiest trifle and I bet so delicious!
ReplyDeleteWow this looks wonderful! Sweet condensed milk also comes in fat free, it is not evaporated milk so dont make that mistake. Condensed milk is very thick. It is found on the baking isle.
ReplyDeleteThis looks beautiful, light and refreshing, I cannot wait to try it!
Christina, a trifle dish is a clear dish that sits on a pedistal. If you have a local walmart they have them for $7-10. You can use any clear dish that has depth. The beauty of this dessert is the layers so you need something you can see through. If you do not care to see the layers you could use any large container.
ReplyDeleteThe fat-free sugar-free white chocolate pudding is VERY good!! The milk Gina is talking about is fat-free sweetened condensed milk. When I make a trifle, I use about 1/4 cup less milk than the recipe calls for. I use skim milk for half the milk and fat-free half and half for the rest of the milk. It is thick and creamy!
ReplyDeleteThis is AS tasty as it is PRETTY so I hope you all make this!!
ReplyDeleteChristina, as someone mentioned a trifle dish is a must so you can see the layers. You should be able to find them wherever they sell kitchen gadgets.
It Is What It Is- I will come over and cut your strawberries! :)
They sell fat free sweetened condensed milk in a can, Borden sells on, so does Carnation.
J Beaman - yes it really is delicious!! So glad I tried it!
I made this for a dinner party, and not only was it the most beautiful thing I've ever made, it was absolutely delicious!!!! The whole trifle was eaten with only 1/2 cup left for me to take home. I will make this again and again, something so beautiful and light in calories/fat is amazing!!!
DeleteI make various versions of this...sometimes I only use fruit, mo cake or pudding and serve with whipped cream on the side BUT I buy cheap trifle bowls at Ikea or Christmas Tree Shop and bring them when I go to friends house for a BBQ and let them keep the bowl as a gift.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!!! I will definitely get some inexpensive trifle dishes, and give as a gift next time. I love that idea! The dessert is soooo beautiful, and delish!!!
DeleteWonderful recipe! What size package of chocolate pudding (ounces) should I use?
ReplyDeleteI've never made a trifle, but I want to now!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea giving the trifle bowl as a gift!
ReplyDeleteThe pudding is a 1 oz package.
Quite possibly the prettiest trifle ever! :)
ReplyDeleteThis would be perfect for a 4th of July pool party! It looks light and delicious!!
ReplyDeleteDoes this need to be refrigerated until served? Are trifle bowls a standard size?
Thanks Susan!
ReplyDeleteChristine, mine is a 14 cup trifle dish. I think they are standard but I could be wrong. As you can see this is over 14 cups!
How do you cut this badboy and serve it Gina?
ReplyDeleteMmmm if I have a request for dessert this July 4 I know what I'm bringing!
ReplyDeleteYou don't cut it, you spoon it! Get a large spoon and serve it in bowls.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes you should keep this refrigerated before serving. Leftovers can be refrigerated too. I ate this for 3 days and it was just as tasty on day 3!
oh my that looks sooo good!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a beautiful dessert!
ReplyDeleteI am going to make this..but with cheesecake flavored pudding!
ReplyDeleteMmm, this looks delicious!
ReplyDeleteCan you use other berries? I don't like blueberries.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great! I love how colourful it looks :)
ReplyDeleteGina,
ReplyDeleteHave you had this yet without the angel food? and how many points was the angel food? Thanks! can't wait to try :)
Raquel M.
This looks soo good. Too bad I'm allergic to chocolate. I think I'll try it with the French Vanilla pudding.
ReplyDeleteYou could use any berries you like.
ReplyDeleteRaquel no but many bites I took were just fruit and it was yummy! I don't know off hand the n.i. for just the cake.
Sharon I don't think white chocolate pudding contains any chocolate.
Ohmygoodness - I made this, too, a few weeks ago adding bananas (b/c I love banana pudding and wanted that idea) and using vanilla pudding. It is SO delish and easy and cant' wait to make it again.
ReplyDeleteIt's so gorgeous! Can't believe it's guiltless! LOve it!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to find your site! I just joined Weight Watchers and have been looking for yummy low points+ recipes. And here you are, the answer to my prayers! I just want to say Thank you and keep up the good work!!
ReplyDeleteWow!! That looks amazing!! I cannot wait to try this recipe! Gina, you post the most delicious looking things…thanks for continuing to give us all ideas to try out…and being the guinea pig to test them for us first! haha
ReplyDeleteOk, I know this is a weird/nosy/random question, lol, but where do you get your silverware? I love your spoons! :)
ReplyDeleteGina...
ReplyDeleteI ordered a trifle bowl just to make this masterpiece for my upcoming 4th of July party! Can't wait to try it! Can you tell me what type of spoon one uses to serve from a trifle bowl? I've never owned one!
amybart - yes I guess I am a guinea pig!!
ReplyDeleteAnonymous- I've had those spoons so long I can't remember where I got them.
Susan D - I personally used a measuring cup to serve since I wanted to see how many cups it made, but any large spoon should work.
I've made a dessert just like this twice in the last few months. I add raspberries when I make it to make it extra berry-y. I was making it from memory and forgot about doing pudding between the layers -- I was just using FF Cool Whip. It's a very satisfying dessert without a ridiculous amount of calories, esp. when you use FF/sugar free ingredients. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI looove trifles- they are so easy but always tasty and a big hit because they just look so fantastic. This is a great combo!
ReplyDeleteThis is my first Trifle, and it turned out amazing! Great idea with the pudding mix in the bag with cutting the corner, no mess! Love this recipe and many others, thanks Gina!! Youve made my family very happy :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad you liked it, I love trifles too because they look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteFor the people asking about the condensed milk.... I just have to say that I am too cheap to pay for that (over $2 a can at my local store) and you don't really need the extra sugar as there is plenty of sweetness already in the cake, the pudding and the whipped cream. I made this using 1 1/2c fat free milk instead of water, leaving out the condensed milk completely, and it turned out great!
ReplyDeleteI will be adding the to my July 4th menu! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletei made this today. made my own angel food cake and added white chocolate shavings to the cake. the recipe was delicious! served it as dessert at a bbq and everyone loved it! thanks for a great recipe.
ReplyDeleteGina - I used sugar free angel food cake and it was fabulous. Would that change the points+ value?
ReplyDeleteVery simple to make, very pretty to serve, and tastes yummy! Thanks Gina
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how the points would change, you would have to plug it into recipe builder.
ReplyDeleteTo all of you who tried it and liked it, I'm so happy u liked it!!
I made this for a fellow WW friend's birthday BBQ this weekend... it turned out fabulous! The trifle bowl was empty in minutes and I am already being asked by my family to make it again :-)
ReplyDeleteI made this trifle for a weekend BBQ and it was AMAZING!! Everyone loved it and said it tasted like something decadent - not HEALTHY!! Thank you so much for your site and all the hard work you put into maintaining it!! Love your recipes Gina!!
ReplyDeleteI made this for my family last night and it was AWESOME! Thanks for the wonderful recipe!
ReplyDeleteI made this for a dinner party at my house. It turned out delicious. My husband and my sister in law couldn't stop raving about it and my nieces were sneaking away plates of it. My sister in law are on a diet and she couldnt believe the low calorie points. I have made many of your recipes and they all turn out great, especially the turkey burgers. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLooks so delicious. Thanks for sharing this wonderful recipe.
ReplyDeleteThis looks so good. I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteI will be making this for our friend's 4th of July party! I don't have a trifle dish, but I have a blue clear bowl, that I'll use. I like the idea of adding some bananas and maybe raspberries into it. I am not a fan of blue berries, but for the sake of the day, I'll use them. Thanks Gina, another amazing recipe!
ReplyDeleteMelissa
I'm going to make this for a BBQ tomorrow, it looks delicious! I wasn't able to find the fat free condensed milk though.. I checked 3 different grocery stores, but they only had lowfat. I also couldn't find sugar free white chocolate pudding. I bought cheesecake flavor instead, hope its just as good!
ReplyDeleteThis was a huge hit last weekend at a friend's birthday party. There were lots of other deserts made with fruits and milk chocolate, but the trifle was the only thing that was gone by the end of the night! Thanks for your great recipes Gina :)

ReplyDeletemakes it a lot easier to slice the strawberries
This was a big hit tonight at our couples get together. I couldn't find white chocolate pudding, so used vanilla. I will definately make this again.
ReplyDeleteMade this spectacular dessert yesterday for our cookout! Easy to assemble...looked just as amazing (well, almost) as Gina's did! Was THE hit of the party! Not one single blueberry was left in the bowl. Easy to find the FF sweetened condensed milk at my local grocery store. It was about double the price though. With about half the can left over, I will make another batch of this delicious dessert this week. Maybe my husband will get some this time!
ReplyDeleteGina...I'm making this for my party tonight. How far in advance can I assemble this so it doesn't turn to mush?
ReplyDeleteSo glad this was a hit, I knoew it would be!!
ReplyDeleteYou may want to assemble it without adding the top layer of fruit until you are closer to the party. It won't turn to mush, but you want the fruit on top to look fresh. Enjoy!
Made this for a party and it was fantastic :-) The longer it sits, the better it gets!!
ReplyDeleteWe made this for a graduation picnic. Huge hit. It was delicious and low calorie. I love this website and starting referring friends and family.
ReplyDeleteThis was wonderful!!! The serving size is very generous!!! I was unable to find the white chocolate pudding, so I substituted cheesecake pudding!!! Will definately be making this again, and again!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is amazing!!! I just made it and am eating the leftovers and I'm in heaven. Just wondering, what do you do with the leftover condensed milk?
ReplyDeleteMade this tonight for a party tomorrow. I literally could make the whole thing in the time it took pasta to cook for dinner!
ReplyDeleteI made this for a 4th of July party today and I only took home a tiny serving. It was a big hit!! So light and fluffy. I made it the day before too and it held up very well. Thank you for your awesome site, Gina!
ReplyDeleteOh my ... made this for the family for our pre-4th of July dinner. There were 12 of us and we devoured it!!! So yummy! Thank you ... again.
ReplyDeleteSO excited to make this for my 4th of July Party!! :) Love all your recipes!
ReplyDeleteI made this for my Canada Day BBQ and it was DELICIOUS!! So beautiful, too! It elicited a lot of ooohs and aahs when I brought it out. Thanks again, Gina!
ReplyDeleteI fixed this yesterday with sugar free vanilla pudding for our family celebration. It was a big hit!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you all liked it, you can play around with different puddings to get different results.
ReplyDeleteLoved it! I'm doing WW and one of my parents is a diabetic. This gave us all a healthier dessert (and it was delicious) for our 4th of July cookout. Will definitely do it again. I'm planning to make it with vanilla pudding and bananas ;-) THANKS for the idea and inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a lovely centerpiece to our dessert table at yesterday's 4th of July BBQ and was promptly devoured. No one could believe it was made using FF ingredients.
ReplyDeleteI saw a FF banana cream jell-o and think I will make this again with that, pineapple and toasted coconut.
Fantssic! Was a major hit with ALL ages! Thanks again for another wonderful recipe and for all your hard work!
ReplyDeletejust made this trifle for my fourth of july bbq, everyone was delighted and impressed with my dessert! thanks for the great recipe!
ReplyDeleteMade this twice today for different family gatherings. Huge hit both times. So delicious and festive, but so simple.
ReplyDeleteI made this for our 4th of July party and everyone loved it! I didn't tell anyone it was low fat and no one knew the difference! Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful recipes!
ReplyDeleteDitto to all that said they made this on the 4th and had great results - I love your receipes, Gina, because they turn out exactly as you say they will and are always excellent. I'm not a talented cook, but when I made this, everyone was impressed. :)
ReplyDeleteI tried the recipe for the 4th of July, and it went over really well. I noticed it was going fast. Tasted just fine. Thanks for the recipe.
ReplyDeleteI made this 2 times this holiday weekend and people could not stop talking about it. I could not find the white chocolate pudding so I just used regular vanilla (i could not find french vanilla either) and it was just delicious!
ReplyDeleteMade this for 2 different July fourth cookouts, it was a hit at both!!! I made cheesecake pudding one day and white chocolate the other and they were equally as tasty!!! It not only looked beautiful, but tasted delicious!!! It was also nice to have a 'healthier' alternative dessert. YUM!!!!
ReplyDeleteI made this as well as two other recipes of yours this past weekend - I have to say finding your website is just what I needed to mix things up with my meal planning . having lost about 128 pounds with WW things were getting stale , thank you so much for all these wonderful new recipes
ReplyDeleteI also made this on the 4th and used a sugar free angel food cake to further lower the calories. My pudding didn't get very firm but it was still delicious. My friends couldn't believe it was a "diet" dessert! I'm thinking of making it again for a family reunion this weekend!
ReplyDeleteWas a complete hit for a BBQ. So easy and so delicious! No one knew it was Fat Free.
ReplyDeleteGina, thank you for this recipe! It was delicious. I made it for a 4th of July BBQ and everyone loved it! I told them it was "skinny" and they all had seconds! : )
ReplyDeleteOh and it was still good the next day, so moist.
Oh and WalMart sells a trifle bowl for $7. Can't beat that.
$7 that's a bargain!
ReplyDeleteI have made this trifle twice already! It has been such a hit! My two year old loved helping me-its so easy!! I am so happy to have stumbled across this blog!!
ReplyDeleteI've made this recipe twice since finding it 2 weeks ago! It's a crowd pleaser and super delish!!!
ReplyDeleteThis was fantastic and the first item I made from your website. I too stumbled upon it from a friends suggestion. I hope all the other recipes are just s good!!Thanks so much. Oh and i ate so much of this.....
ReplyDeleteI know, it's hard not to eat more!
ReplyDeleteThis was the biggest hit at our 4th of July cookout!!! I think I need an intervention because o am addicted to your site. My family has loved everything that I have made from here. 2mro we are making the low fat banana walnut oatmeal cookies and brown rice horchata. Can't wait to try the next thing!!!! Of anyone comes over for the intervention I have cookies!!!
ReplyDeleteLol, enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI made this for my family's 4th of July celebration and it was a huge hit! I will definitely make this again and again!
ReplyDeleteI've made this twice and it's a big hit. I didn't have white chocolate pudding so I used sugar-free cheesecake instead and it was awesome. Easy to prepare; looks so pretty and best of all DELICIOUS! Thank you Gina, I LOVE your website!
ReplyDeleteI made this for the 4th of July and it was a big hit. I ate the leftovers for breakfast and it was fabulous after sitting in the fridge all night.
ReplyDeleteI made this tonight to take to my sister-in-law's. I wrote about it on my blog and linked back to you. Please let me know if I need to add/correct anything. http://rebaann.blogspot.com/2011/07/red-white-and-blueberry-trifle.html
ReplyDeleteI fixed this for a 4th of July cook out and it was a big hit!! Everyone loved it. I had several people ask for the recipe. Thanks Gina, I love this site!
ReplyDeleteFor those challenged by slicing the strawberries, use a handy dandy egg slicer! For this recipe, remove the strawberry stem first. But in the past I've kept the stem on, don't cut all the way through, and then fan the strawberry slices for a pretty decoration.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this website Gina. I am HOOKED!
I made this last night to bring to a carry-in today at work. It turned out beautifully and it was so easy!! Thank you Gina!!!
ReplyDeleteMaking this for a get together tomorrow, and can't wait to take a bite or two! :)
ReplyDeleteLove this, it's so light and fluffy. Also, it did not break down like I expected it to.
ReplyDeleteThis was so good, no one believed that it was a healthier version! Will definitely be making again!
ReplyDeleteMade this recipe for my in laws without telling them it was lowfat. Everyone thought it was delicious. But I did have to make a change. The store I went to was out of the white chocolate sugar free so I used vanilla sugar free instead. Came out fantastic! Thank you for this recipe!
ReplyDeleteHI. I just wanted to write to say I have tried a couple different recipes now on your site and everyone of them have turned out amazing. I am fascinated with this site and always looking for what you will come up with next. I just made this dessert for my nephews birthday party and it was a bigger hit than the birthday cake. I made this and the buffalo skinny dip. NO LEFTOVERS! Thank you so much for this site. The items have been easy to find and recipes easy to follow. ~Amanda~
ReplyDeleteMade this dessert today...yummy! Thanks for the recipe. My husband's family loved it. My store is a little lame...they didn't carry the fat-free condensed milk or white chocolate pudding, so I used reg condensed milk and vanilla pudding.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first item I made from skinnytaste.com after my sister-in-law made it for my mom's birthday bbq! I made it for our Wednesday night dinner rotation and it was great!! Beautiful presentation and a delicious summer dessert!
ReplyDeleteFantastic summer dessert. Love the way the cake bits soak up the cool whip mixture. A no-fail dessert and as JRod notes, beautiful presentation.
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to say that I have made so many of your recipes it's like you live in my house with me. That might seem a little creepy, but it's true!
ReplyDeleteI know it's gross and against all the rules but I was really feeling the need for berries lately even though it's December and I totally made this recipe with frozen berries. It was not as good, I'm sure, but it fed my berry needs and made my family very happy!
hello im new to your website...i have made a brownie trifle before and it asked for sweetened condensed milk and in my opinion and familys and was wayyyy to sweet. would it completely change the taste if i use regular milk? would it not be sweet enough or thick enough if i left the sweetened condensed milk out? thank you for your beautiful recipes!!
ReplyDeleteThis isn't overly sweet but you could just leave it out.
ReplyDeleteGina, any ideas on how to make this delicious dessert festive for the holidays!!!
ReplyDelete
