Air Fryer Green Beans
I love air frying my green beans because it’s fast, and they come out perfectly cooked. To make them extra delicious, I top them with a crumb mixture made of parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic, and spices. It’s so good that it’s hard not to eat the whole batch! What You’ll Need
I’m a picky green bean eater, but I can’t get enough of this recipe! The parmesan breadcrumb topping, made with mostly pantry staples, transforms these green beans from basic to delectable. The exact measurements are in the recipe card below.

- Green Beans: Trim the ends off the string beans, then rinse and pat them dry.
- Olive Oil gives the veggies moisture and flavor and helps the breadcrumb mixture stick.
- Seasoning: Kosher salt, sweet paprika, dried parsley, black pepper.
- Garlic: Minced garlic adds a savory aroma to the green bean topping that make this so good.
- Cheese: Grated Pecorino Romano or parmesan mixes with the breadcrumbs to create a crispy, golden coating.
- Breadcrumbs: 4C seasoned breadcrumbs are my go-to. Use seasoned GF crumbs for gluten-free.

- Make the Breadcrumb Mixture: Combine the remaining ingredients in a small bowl. Spread the crumbs over the green beans, spray with olive oil, and air fry 375F for 2 more minutes, until golden.
Variations
- Vegetables: This Parmesan breadcrumb topping would be delicious on other vegetables, such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, or asparagus.
- Can’t eat gluten? Use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- Don’t have seasoned breadcrumbs? Add additional spices to the breadcrumbs, like garlic powder and onion powder.
- Vegan: Omit the cheese.
- Herbs: Swap dried parsley with oregano or thyme.
- Cleaning Tip: These perforated parchment sheets are the easiest way to clean an air fryer. It’ll prevent the oil and crumbs from sticking to the basket.

can you make this without an air fryer?
I’ve made this recipe several times and we love it!
Made these tonight for the first time. My husband and I both love them! I have a new Ninja Crispi, and I’ll have to tweak most of my air fryer recipes since it does not have an adjustable temp setting. I overcooked the beans a little bit, but now I know what to do next time… and there will definitely be a next time!
My whole family LOVES these green beans!! They are in our weekly rotation. My folks never get tired of them.
Delicious and so easy to make in the air fryer! Will definitely make again!
Great!!
What is a 2/2 cup serving? Recipe looks delicious.
This will be the way we cook green beans from now on! I skimped by using powdered garlic instead of fresh and they were still great. Cooked perfectly.
I’m addicted to these air fryer green beans, too. Most of the time I just use 3 ingredients, beans , olive oil spray and a Trader Joe’s seasoning. Saves calories and time. Still just sooo good.
So good!
Delicious and easy. They are best eaten right after cooking.
Very tasty
This was perfect timing because I had a bag of green beans that needed to be cooked. Delicious! I made them in the oven and they came out perfect!!
can this be made with frozen green beans?
