Why Should Everyone Meal Plan?

Meal planning is a great way to organize your meals for the week ahead. You also save time and money in the supermarket! And of course, planning ahead helps you stick to your goals!

About The Meal Plan

If you’re new to my meal plans, I’ve been sharing these free, 7-day flexible healthy meal plans (you can see my previous meal plans here) that are meant as a guide, with plenty of wiggle room for you to add more food, coffee, beverages, fruits, snacks, dessert, wine, etc. or swap recipes out for meals you prefer, you can search for recipes by course in the index. You should aim for around 1500 calories* per day.

There’s also a precise, organized grocery list that will make grocery shopping so much easier and much less stressful. Save you money and time. You’ll dine out less often, waste less food and you’ll have everything you need on hand to help keep you on track.

Lastly, if you’re on Facebook join my Skinnytaste Facebook Community where everyone’s sharing photos of recipes they are making, you can join here. I’m loving all the ideas everyone’s sharing! If you wish to get on the email list, you can subscribe here so you never miss a meal plan!

Also, if you don’t have the Skinnytaste Meal Planner, now would be a great time to get one to get organized for 2020! There was a print error last year, but it’s perfect now! You can order it here!

Breakfast and lunch Monday-Friday, are designed to serve 1 while dinners and all meals on Saturday and Sunday are designed to serve a family of 4. Some recipes make enough leftovers for two nights or lunch the next day. While we truly believe there is no one size fits all meal plan, we did our best to come up with something that appeals to a wide range of individuals. Everything is Weight Watchers friendly, I included the updated WW Blue SP for your convenience, feel free to swap out any recipes you wish or just use this for inspiration!

The grocery list is comprehensive and includes everything you need to make all meals on the plan. I’ve even included brand recommendations of products I love and use often. Cross check your cabinets because many condiments you’ll notice I use often, so you may already have a lot of them.

And last, but certainly not least, this meal plan is flexible and realistic. There’s plenty of wiggle room for cocktails, healthy snacks, dessert and dinner out. And if necessary, you can move some things around to make it work with your schedule. Please let me know if you’re using these plans, this will help me decide if I should continue sharing them!

  1. The grilled cumin spicy port tenderloin, vegetarian and black bean tacos were huge hits with the family. I found a new love for the savory cottage cheese bowl breakfast. I am growing cherry tomatoes and peppers, so it is a treat I mix it up too.

  2. I’m doing WW and struggling with meal planning and someone in the WW Facebook group mentioned you so here I am. I’m wondering what the best way to follow you is. Is it on this site or on Facebook. How’s the best way to use grocery list if I have no printer? Write it down I guess?  I’m praying this is easy to use and not hard recipes. Not a very good cook lol

    1. You can follow on either- or both. You can sign up to get emails as well. You can take a picture of the grocery list on your phone or write it down. Enjoy!

  3. Thank you so much for making these meal plans.  I desperately need to lose weight and needed help. I get lost trying to plan and spend too much time overthinking everything. I have loved your cookbooks and just found this website. This is my first week and I am pleased to say it is going well.  You are teaching healthy portions and great food. Never stop writing. You are gifted.

  4. I just wanted to say this was my first week following this and I loved it. I need to lose 10-15 lbs in the next couple of months and thought about doing Jenny Craig but couldn’t get on board with processed food, etc. Not to mention the cost. These meals plans are going to be a lifesaver for me – I’m busy and don’t have the time to plan. Thank you SO MUCH!!!

  5. Hi, I have been making and loving your recipes for years. I just started doing WW and can’t find any of your recipes in there, any tips for locating these? I know a lot of your recipes are in my fitness pal, so I’m surprised they aren’t in WW.

  6. I have been getting emails for years and thank you for your generosity in sharing these with us. Congrats on your latest venture of the meal kits. Won’t be using those but it’s a natural next step. Thanks!

  7. I love your meal plans. But how can I print the chart and not the entire multiple pages? I see how to print the shopping list, thank you for that.

    1. Are you just wanting to print the calendar? If so click on the google doc link right under it then print. Hope that helps!

Love, Love, Love your meal plans! They inspire me every week to make healthy meals for my family. I use your recipes almost exclusively and they are so easy to modify for my picky eaters. Please keep making them – I would be lost!

  9. Thank you so much for these wonderful meal plans.
It is so helpful, not to have to calculate all ingredients and calories, but have an idea where to start when building a healthy and skinny meal plan. And what a great idea to have dinners and lunches calculated for different number of portions. Just brilliant and such a timesaver!!  I started to use your meal plans 3 weeks ago. Before that I was also cooking every meal for my family, but did not have any idea or overview over calories and pairings. With following the meal plans I enjoy each meal, do not go hangry in-between meals and even discover new family favorites all at once. On top of that I started to loose some weight, without being a spoilsport for the family when it comes to having a coffee or ice cream in every day life.
For all that a big and heartfelt thank you from Canada!!

  10. I am so grateful for these weekly meal plans. They have made my journey to healthy eating so much easier. I seriously can’t thank you enough and I hope that you’ll continue to do these. I look forward to them every week!
