Air Fryer Shrimp Ingredients
- Shrimp: Peel and devein 32 jumbo shrimp.
- Spices: Garlic powder, sweet paprika, dried parsley, salt
- Olive Oil: Stir in two tablespoons of oil with spices.
- Lemon Wedges for serving
How Long to Air Fry Shrimp
- Spice Mixture: Combine the spices with the oil and then add the shrimp.
- Air Fry: Arrange the raw shrimp in a single layer in the basket. If they won’t all fit, you may have to do another batch. Air fry them at 400°F for five to six minutes, shaking the basket halfway.
What to Serve with Air Fryer Shrimp
- Tacos: Wrap the shrimp in corn tortillas and top with cilantro and a creamy lime sauce. You can even season the shrimp with Latin spices, like chili powder and cumin. Or save on carbs and make lettuce wraps instead.
- Bowls: Fill a bowl with quinoa or rice and your favorite veggies and drizzle with fresh lemon juice.
- Salads: Top any salad with air-fried shrimp for extra protein.
- Main Dish: Serve the shrimp with roasted broccoli rabe, butternut squash, carrots, or any other side.
- Tostadas: Layer a tostada shell with refried beans, guacamole, salsa, and shrimp.
- Sandwich the shrimp between two pieces of bread and add butter lettuce and tartar sauce.
How to Store Shrimp
Store leftover shrimp in airtight containers for three to four days in the refrigerator. You can eat them cold or reheat them in the microwave for 30 seconds.
Variations:
- Shrimp: You can buy fresh or frozen shrimp that’s already peeled and deveined to save time. If you use frozen shrimp, thaw it before adding the spices.
- Spices: Switch up the spices with your favorite store-bought mixes, like Old Bay or Tajin, or make your own combo. Add onion powder or swap the parsley for oregano.
- No Air Fryer? No Problem! Cook them in a skillet for about three minutes on each side.

This was my first attempt at cooking something in my new air fryer. It was delicious!! So easy too!! I saw this recipe on Instagram and it was the reason I bought the air fryer! Had the leftovers for lunch today.
Can’t wait to make it again soon!
This was delicious and so easy to make. I made extra for lunch the next day. Fabulous!!
Can’t wait to try this recipe! But wondering if Sweet Paprika is the same stuff as regular Paprika, different from Smoked Paprika, or do I need to purchase Hungarian Sweet Paprika? Sorry, but I want it to turn out just like yours 😉
Great recipe!! Love this came out amazing !
WOW! Quick, easy and delicious…what more could you ask for.
Came out perfect!
Do you preheat the air fryer ?
no
This was so very fast and easy and GREAT! I was at a loss for what to do for dinner and had some frozen jumbo shrimp in the freezer. I just rinsed them in a colander in the sink while I peeled off the shells. (I only had 8 to do so this was super fast while the air fryer preheated – 3 minutes, topsI) I patted them dry and put a spritz of oil on them and tossed them in a bowl with a teaspoon of the spice mix. .I saved the rest of the spices in a small jar for next time! Five minutes in the air fryer was perfect since I had preheated it. While they were in the air fryer, I took out a handful of salad greens, halved some cherry tomatoes and threw in about a teaspoon of pumpkin seeds and the shrimp when it was done. A quick drizzle from a lemon wedge and it was an awesome dinner salad in under 10 minutes. I can’t wait to try the idea of Old Bay seasoning or even my jerk seasonings! Shrimp in 10 minutes, who knew? Thanks, Gina!
If using a convection toaster oven, do I need to shake the shrimp half way through ? Thanks !Â
A+ Loved this.
Excellent recipe! Â Made it last night. Added 3/4 t. Old Bay Seasoning to give it a Virginia/Chesapeake Bay flavor.
Gina, please do a crab-stuffed shrimp recipe someday. It’s one of my favorite dishes at a local Florida restaurant… and company worthy. I love the spices you chose for this multi-use recipe.
What is the sodium level for this recipe? Seems to be missing from the nutritional values.
Let me check and I will update
I agree with another poster: What are “jumbo” shrimp?
21/25 or any shrimp you want that totals the same weight I posted
21/25 is NOT jumbo shrimp! That size is just large shrimp and will cook much faster!
Yeah, it’s what the package says when you buy frozen and my cook time is accurate.
Gina is correct (maybe because it’s her recipe!)

This was simple and delicious!
What are “jumbo” shrimp? U-10? 16/20? 21/25? The answer you get depends on who you ask. The cook time will vary quite a bit from U-10 to 21/25.
Unless you live within spitting distance of the ocean or a shrimp farm, all raw shrimp are previously frozen and defrosted. You might as well do the defrosting yourself, so you’ll know under what conditions they were defrosted and how long it’s been since they were defrosted.
this was 21/25
Is there another way to cook without air fryerÂ
Sure, make in the skillet, saute 3 to 4 minutes.
Can you confirm these are raw shrimp for the recipe? Thanks!
Yes! The recipe is for how to cook raw shrimp in the air fryer 🙂
