I have a weakness for Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, so when my sister-in-law brought this philly cheesesteak dip to my Mom’s on Christmas, I couldn’t stop thinking about it for days – it was that good! I needed to figure out a way to make this lighter so I played around with it and came up with a solution, worthy to bring to any party!

I replaced the steak with chicken, cut the cream cheese in half and used light instead, and replaced the rest with light sour cream (I tried it with Greek yogurt but didn’t taste as good). The final result was DELICIOUS! 🙂

For dipping I bought a whole wheat baguette, sliced it thin and toasted it but bagel thins, pretzel thins, tortilla chips or even crudites would work! This can be made one day in advance and stored in the refrigerator before baking.

  1. Made this for family visit, was a big hit…very good will definitely do again.

  2. Can I freeze this?

  3. Happy Thanksgiving Gina,
This is a very tasty recipe. I will be making again. We started Thanksgiving early this year and I used 8oz left over cooked smoked turkey (Butterball from Walmart) instead of the chicken. It was very quick since the turkey was already cooked. I had mine with celery and the rest of the family with tortilla chips. Served it as the main course and my family loved it. Be safe and have a good holiday with your family

  4. Gina,

Could I use Greek yogurt for the mayo and sour cream?

  5. What is the serving size for the chicken cheese steak dip?

  6. Was not a fan. This should not be marked as Keto. Seemed too sour to me. My husband would barely eat it.

  7. Made this on Sunday for Super Bowl and was a hit! And my team won!

    Thank you Gina 🙂

  8. I just calculated this to put into the App and it says 4 Freestyle points for the 1/4 cup. Not 2 FP.

    • Hi Colby. The only accurate way to determine any recipe’s SmartPoints® value is to plug the ingredients into the recipe builder on the Weight Watchers website (Click on “My Foods,” select “Recipe,” and click “Create a recipe.”) which does not count fruits and vegetables in recipes in the calculations as they are now 0 points.

The SmartPoints® calculator isn’t meant for recipes and will often give you the wrong points (usually higher) because it’s counting the fruits and vegetables. So if you see a recipe with a SmartPoints® value that’s different from what the calculator tells you, now you know why.
